They're getting him in on trial. Nothing to lose. If he doesn't come up to scratch, we move on. I'll guarantee he won't be the only trialist.

Both Nixon & Iles seem pretty confident, that we'll sign Amos, a great signing if we can pull it off, imo.

Seen as we are all in agreement that we are skint, surely we also realise that it's going to be difficult to sign players who have everything (no injury record, proven quality etc etc)

 

If we can get quality players on my the right deal (pay as you play) then fingers crossed we start getting lucky

 

I wonder if Wigan fans conplained when they signed Jimmy Bullard and per Frandsen who both had dodgy injury records - those midfielders got them promoted

Last season my order of preference was Bogdan, Amos then Lonnergan.

My sentiments exactly. To be fair to Boggers - I think he would be a lunatic to turn down a move to Liverpool at this stage of his career and with the club's in their respective positions. I can't see anything in Mignolet that Boggers doesn't have and I don't see any reason why he shouldn't challenge for the top spot. Having said that - I don't think either of them are quite good enough if Liverpool harbour champions league ambitions.

 

Amos would be a more than adequate replacement and could be worth a few quid if he does well. Will we still need another keeper or is one of the young lads going to step up do you reckon?

I'd imagine with Boggers looking highly likely to sign for Liverpool and us possibly signing Amos, I reckon we could save a few quid on wages. Releasing Lonergan has also helped financially too. I'd imagine Lennon is looking to bring in an experienced number 2 who would provide competition and be on a fraction of what Lonergan was on.

I don't think we need a proper sub keeper in this league. Stick Fitzsimons on the bench, if Amos (hopefully if he signs) gets injured then he has to play the rest of that match, we then go out and get an emergency loan the next day. Saves on wages for a half decent back up keeper until they are actually needed and would only require the youth for part of 1 match.
