They have some form of sharia in the crown I hear :)

Sharia, that's what I meant, not Shia

:)

Whatever the issues for and against the current crisis, and I agree there need to be controls, but do people not realise that the stuff being shared on Facebook et al, showing " refugees rioting " etc, is in the main completely nothing to do with Syrian refugees? The fact the same footage can be found with a quick search on YouTube and was uploaded years ago , from student demos far right demo counter demos etc make that obvious. There was a pic doing the rounds of some muscle lad in a best on a boat, with a title " poor malnourished refugee " or similar, shared 1000 of times and everyone up in arms, turns out he's on a boat in Australia absolutely nothing to do with Syria .

There are some absolute cunts out there spreading misinformation. I'd happily send them all out to Syria.

Yup.

From both sides of the political divide.

Centrists welcome, the rest can fuck off.

The misinformation is coming from everywhere

The poor boy that got washed up dead was apparently fleeing for freedom according to many national papers

These publications aren't some idiot on Facebook so they have a duty to be more accurate

Many of them chose not to point out the fact that the family was safe in Turkey but chose to make the crossing for a better life, a fact that has real significance on the whole subject

Social media is so instant these days that anything emotive can be spread very quickly wether it's accurate or not. People prefer to absorb an image at face value rather than read up on the facts. (That MP today who looked like he was asleep but was actually partially deaf and listening to a speaker is another example)

With the enormous numbers of people heading for Europe, no one can know what their background is. Some will be refugees, some will be economic migrants and it is both possible and probable that some are terrorists. No one really knows the breakdown so it was inevitable that the open borders would be closed.

What do the Society of White Lawyers have to say?

"I know this is probably completely politically incorrect but you have a profile picture I'll be wanking to tonight'

Something along those lines.

She was on Newsnight last night, like an embittered Dalek...There was probably no orange juice for the other guests either, because R2-D2 quaffed it all.

My favourite pic of the whole propaganda campaign appeared last night. Superb this one!

A bloke dressed like a Tupac tribute act doesn't scare me, bring it on motherfuckas :)

When I went to Kos a few weeks ago, I was a bit apprehensive, hoping they wouldn't be in my resort.

Anyroad, all were holed up in Kos Town, tents on the beach and around the town hall/police station areas.

Didn't cause any mither or beg from anyone, although Kos Town beach is a mess, they don't clean up, that was my gripe.

Now what I don't get is this, you made it to Turkey to flee the baddies, job done, stay there.

Also other day, Queen whatever from Jordan was on't telly, complaining about Europe not doing enough, Love why don't you take a load and stop preaching to the rest of us.

My wife goes beserk everytime its on telly, need to start switching over when the news comes on.

There is a longstanding tradition of Turks going to Germany for work. Why shouldn't their lodgers do the same?

thats the other problem, there is this impression that they are fleeing syria and all coming to Europe/ Britain.

there are loads in Turkey and loads in Jordan, if the united nations website is accurate, a lot more than europe and the UK combined.

Still a big fat fuck all in Saudi then

But they've got the balls to offer the cash to pay for a fuck load of mosques to be built in Germany.

Then again if you're trying to escape a brutal regime why would you go to one the west turns a blind eye to.

We could take in as many if we also kept them all on camps rather than give them houses, spending money, health care etc.

It's a misleading statistic which keeps getting trotted out.

Quite possibly, but it's still not " doing nothing and not taking any" as is implied by the statements

I'm not arguing a case one way or the other to be honest, just thought the United Nations refugee council website would be a better source of info than Britain first on Facebook. There's some interesting data on it.

You know when them gyspy scruffs come to your door selling cleaning tat and you just want the fuckers off your land so you give them a couple of quid to fuck off somewhere else...

See the Russians have offered to talk to the U.S. Military to military over Syria

Germany said come on down and have now shut their borders, Hungary are building fences quicker than a navi on speed, and who can blame them. Even channel 4 are reporting the stone throwing and violence by the refugees at the border. A week or so ago the rest of Europe and the dogooders thought Cameron was out of order.

This. It's fine coming out with knee-jerk sound-bites and promising this, that and the other, but Cameron has handled it well. He's taking his time, refusing to be dictated to and will respond as and when. Fair play to him and I'm no big fan of his

I dont like him either but cant knock him for the course hes taken on this.

The UK has just payed the 1.7 billion pound bill to the EU. The Prime Minister said he was ` downright angry` and said that the British Public would find the vast sum totally unacceptable. If you look at the chart for this year you will see the nearest to UK is Holland who paid 150 million and then pretty much everyone else got cash back! France and Germany got the most cash paid to them at around 850 million each.

Yeah but last year he said he wasn't going to pay the "extra" bill sent to us. He said he was going to pay half, which Osborne did. However, we have just paid the other half. It's been buried amongst the other news.

If only we knew what Eu membership costs us in a daily figure. I'm sure someone on here must know?
