The Food Hall has opened at Bolton Market. Had a mooch around. Didn’t buy anything but it both looks and smells good. Various stalls with a variety of foods and a small bar.  I’ve said previously, t

I never got picked up. Always ended up trawling up derby street and saint helens road cos I couldn’t afford a taxi 😀

Fair play to him. If I had an 8.30 start the next day at work at IGW he would pick me up and make sure that I was home and able to at least maybe turn in for work

No work the next day and I used to walk from town back to Sharples. Back in the day when there were boozers at or near the bottom end of Halliwell Road and the Tramways in Astley Bridge that were still “open” at late hours

I had a scrap in there once. Turned out I was fighting myself in the mirrored wall at the back of the club

Went in The Light cinema today, it's such a nice place, deserves so much more footfall than what I've seen it on the times I've visited.

Then caught the bus from outside Three Crowns, my word some absolutely disastrous karaoke coming out of there 😂

Oh yeah, that ginger vagabond that's been living in town for what feels like 100 years made me buy him a can of coke. He's most grumpy.

We know Spider has a bad knee, but that's a bit extreme.

Beaten to it haha

We caught some awful sounds walking  past about 2.30, we're tempted to go for a gyros at "taste of greece", amazing in there

We used to take a group of people we support to the Light cinema. There never seemed many in during the day and I’m sure they kept costs down by having no heating on.🥶

Feel the no matter what good places they open in the town centre, people just wont go now. Its over for many people, they have new routines and even more local options.

I can’t think of one shop that would tempt me into town.

It is a very similar story to Bradford, when I first landed here the centre was busy shopping during day and then pubs and bars in the evening. It is now dead. Everything has moved out, especially to Leeds which is now very busy all day and night. No way back for it.

Shopping has changed too, I dont ever go shopping now, neither do my wife or kids - All online.

Its the bars and food places that people go out for....and no matter what opens in town, we all have better options locally without the hastle of crap traffic, crap parking, and / or terrible long bus rides - hardly any point.

Yeah thats it, too far gone to get people back for that. So next best thing I suppose is build housing, get people in the area that way - see how that changes the foottraffic.

Few decent pubs and food places not enough get many out of our local areas.

Exactly this.

Who the fuck goes in town shopping nowadays when you've got online and retail parks.

Food and drink gets people in town.

In Blackpool they've rejuvenated the St John's square area. All the shops and bars were given grants by the council to have the same shop frontage, none of them pay business rates and in 3-4 years the whole area has completely changes and is thriving.

All different food places, niche bars, a food hall with all different stalls in and different event held each week in the square itself.

Now the old post office is going to be a massive Indego hotel with a rooftop terrace food quarter thing on top.

Just shows it can be done with the right investment.

Shopping in town centres is dead and gone.

In a similar fashion, the main street in Cleveleys has gone from being full of old dodderers shopping in charity shops to a proper thriving street full of micro pubs and new eateries...

This is a brilliant example of how a place can be reinvented/developed everyone loves it, but for a few years a real white elephant basically nice location with a few offices. Now it holds loads of events and big concerts, used as a set in films etc etc, just not sure how many such places there can be.

This supposed new scheme on the area between churchgate and the A666 needs to happen.

Get the type of housing right, maybe for younger, commuter types, and a few independent shops may make a return/continue.

Got to make the area feel safe, and pleasant though.

Back in town again for a yeeros  at taste of Greece, towns fair busy.

Only really come to look around slaters.

i did Notice Friday about 7 blokes in wheelchairs with One or no Legs

all over

and seen 5 traffic wardens
