Had scran at Tapaz at weekend, was bloody decent.

I like that place, really good, if the proposed development does happen and the view from the windows there is of a street leading up to the town hall , rather than the current view of people asleep outside primark , I reckon it will be goldmine

Truly is, as is the whole of Le Mans Crescent.

Probably why we see them in so many TV shows.

This gets forgotten too much, by most of us probably. But the architecture around the town centre is stunning all over the place.

Much of it is hidden, or you get distracted by the terrible shops on the ground floor.

Look up all round the town, even Bradshawgate, and the buildings are stunning…..just dirty, overgrown and not looked after.

Damn shame really, some really good youtube vids of people very impressed with that aspect of the town..

The inside of the Nat West Bank is worth a look. The outside of the building opposite Elephant and Castle, and Prestons ring shop building plus a few more if you think about them would be worth a look if you could get inside.

The ceiling always reminds me of the bank in Mary Poppins.

When the kids wanted to feed the birds " tuppence a bag" and the dad wanted to invest it in the afore mentioned bank.

I’ll be buggered. I never knew that. I’ve just googled it and the Evening News had an article about it, but no picture.

Found a picture. Bloody hell fire. It’s reet.

Aye but there is a decent explanation

Is this the building that had a swastika mosaic in the tiled floor? Caused a bit of controversy.

Think that’s was the little one on Derby street

Blimey. It’s entrenched in Bolton folklore

Shocking I know 😂 I was probably told but never retained it.

I remember learning the Kinder Scout trespass.

In my defence, I left at 17 & have never moved back. All my family live in Scotland now. Love Bolton & get back when I can, but I probably know more folklore tales about the Black Isle than my hometown.

Always remember the ghost of Smithills though. And the pub that couldn’t think of a name in time in Harwood.

Next time you’re back in Bolton, take a hike up Coal Pit Road. 👍

Great poem. Not read that before either.

Could always see over to winter hill from the smaller one behind my house.

Will do 👍 Think I’ll stay over that way next time I’m down for a game in the Autumn.

Another classic

Fair enough. I probably grew up in a generation that taught you about it with a proper passion

If you’re ever back go up Coal Pit Road as @Boby Brno says

Please don’t tell me you don’t know about Scotsman’s Stump either :D

Timely and profound words.

Now all they teach kids is about what utter bastards the British have been.

I'd like to see those teaching this left wing dogma blindfolded and stood against a wall.
