Carlos Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Before my time, can you see the canal and what's the lodge? Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Before my time, can you see the canal and what's the lodge? I'd imagine the lodge is a feeder to the canal. Quote
Boo Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 I would imagine the lodge is summat to do with the mill at the top of the pic. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 I would imagine the lodge is summat to do with the mill at the top of the pic. Going with this now- what I thought was the canal is actually the river. Canal's above this. Quote
Boo Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 Heres a view looking towards Farnworth along where St Pete's is now with Burnden on the right under the viaduct. they were culverting the Croal at the time. Quote

Barnstoneworth White Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 I was right at the front against the fence when we played Everton in the League Cup semi in 1977, 50,000 on. We were in the side closest to the Paddock. On a couple of occasions there was the inevitable crowd surge with me pinned up against the fence, I swear the fence buckled, THAT was scary. Quote
