2016/2017 Season Tickets

Featured Replies

Has this Bradford ticket policy given them success in the league? I'm not sure it has, I'm firmly in the keep the ST prices as they are, reducing revenue is madness.

Not the ticket prices alone, that is part of the overall commitment the owners have to the fans, which is seeing them average about 17000 for home games. That in turn has generated money for them to invest, which let them spend money on players which improved performance which enabled them to go cup runs which in turn generated money. The opposite of what we have done.

We are a on a massive slump, heading nowhere good really fast, we have no/little money, players on massive wages, 5000 or so season ticket holders (myself included) who have not even turned up last few matches, something needs to change. We need something to re engage with the fans to make people want to turn up to games.

Cutting prices alone is not the answer but as part of a series of initiatives it could help.

When you have more people pledging support to the ST than you have turning up to watch the team it makes sense to try and tap into that latent support and do whatever you can to get them through the doors.

Or we can leave everything as is and hope it gets better on its own. The new owners need to share their plans for the future because at the moment they seem like they have clubbed together to buy a new toy that they do not know how it works and are squabbling about who decides how to play with it.

Agree with a lot of that the concern is what happens if we slash prices and we only get 10k renewing? That would be another hole in our finances on top of 8 million loss of parachute payments and 5 million drop of revenue for dropping out of the championship. And no I havent any answers either.

Aye - it's a bit like M&S's profits slumping and a  knew boss saying "don't worry, there's a hard core who will always buy their knickers here come what may".

Whoever is responsible for the mess we're in - board, PG, ED, players, managers - it sure as shite isn't those who have stuck by them with STs since relegation. First and foremost they need incentive to renew - be it future price promises based on success, big reductions if longer term commitments are made (sign up for the next 3 years and the 4th is free), buy back schemes for those who want to commit but know they cannot hope to get to every game etc. It's not just the money - after all, as people have pointed out, if you've been happy to pay for the shite we've had over the last few years then (barring any downturn in personal finances) people will probably be able to renew. And obviously if somehow we knew we were turning a corner then they probably would. But we're miles away from such a corner and quite likely facing a number of years in the 3rd tier. Starting a Championship season, even with a dodgy team, you still have some hope that a good run (as per 3 years ago) might propel you within sight of the playoffs. Starting as will next year - without even any great idea of what players we might have or be able to afford - doesn't provide much hope. Some good laughs on new away trips yes, but simple human nature says a lot will simply feel taken for a ride unless some genuine incentives appear. They just will, however much individuals might plead otherwise in their personal case or however much you argue people shouldn't.

I don't really think cost of season tickets are an issue its the other things which go with it that add up to the match day experience being poor. Car parking is too expensive for those who do pay it.

Quite a few grounds have areas outside where fans can smoke and drink at half time - not sure we have it at our gaff?

And here's a thought - they've got my email address, and that of (almost) every ST holder - so where is the email asking me questions about my response to various ST options?

Something drastic needs to be done for next season

If they were FOC i still wouldn't get one........................

While that may be true, I don't think it's too much to expect that folk whose direct debit will (as far as we know) automatically roll on in a couple of weeks be told how much they're going to be paying and what they're going to be paying for.

I too was thinking this. Ha anyone cancelled their direct debit? I haven't but to be honest they really do need to communicate what the cost will be

But that is the same thing, the matchday experience has a price to it, the price we are charging at the moment is too high for the experience.

It is like going to Alton Towers going on all the big rides, then going back a few weeks later all that is open is the log flume and thinking people will be happy paying full whack.

Without the biggest thing they could do (other than hotdogs) is put a committed passionate winning team on the pitch.

On a practical point, I usually buy a spare YOOF ticket so that junior can bring a mate, he is 18 this time and his mates do not want to come now we are so shit so I need to change my tickets, as Enzo points out not a lot for me as a customer to expect to be able to do that.

The new guys took over with a plan, I would have thought ticket prices etc was part of that....along with a plan to put bums on seats...again not too much to ask.

The one thing they must do is keep the interest free direct debit jobby.

The thought of paying £400 up front for a year of division 3 football makes me want to walk into this turd laden sea facing me now.

£30odd a month isn't so bad.

Don't fuck this bit up Bolton.

Agreed. I don't notice the thirty odd quid but if you asked me to shell the whole lot up front I'd think twice.

I don't think I'd even think once.

Agreed. My mum didn't notice the thirty odd quid but if you asked her to shell the whole lot up front I'd think she would say.

I'm still paying off season tickets from 10 years ago on interest free barclay cards at £10 a month

not paying for one up front

thing is

I want to move stands - this time last year had renewed, but don't know for next season how much a new ST will be and when I need to renew by etc etc, so they had better not auto renew

Hahahahaha I paid that off as the constant drip of about £1.27 a month was getting on my tits.

And here's a thought - they've got my email address, and that of (almost) every ST holder - so where is the email asking me questions about my response to various ST options?

Exactly, it's basic marketing. Find out what your customers are looking for.

There's loads of websites that let you send out a customised questionnaire to any amount of email addresses. Very easy to put something together asking what would encourage season ticket holders would want to see to encourage them to renew. We use SurveyMonkey to do this at our place.

Plus, 1 click of a button and its all analysed and put into easy-to-read graphs, spreadsheets, tables etc for you..

Piss easy. BWFC are too lazy to even think of something as simple as that.

I'm guessing, as they've clearing brought PR in, they are overhauling this area. There's fucking loads of work to do, that's for sure.

Job for Peter Reid then

Rang the ticket office yesterday. Said they hope to have prices sorted by end of the month. Also said she couldn't tell me if the upper tiers would be open next season.

The club is a shambles on and off the pitch.

If they shut the upper tiers then I'm done

Not having all those werthers lot coming down in the east lower telling folk to sit down

It's taken me years to clear out the 'sit down' crowd near me, I'm not starting again :)

Then again, I've not had much to stand up for this season :D

Rumours last couple of games - 38% reduction !!

That'd do, I'm not spending £400 for league 1 football, that's taking the piss.

General feeling amongst the ones I've spoke too is £300 tops.

Those I know in the uppers will pick & choose games if uppers close.

Vital decisions needed from the New board. Folk are pissed off & near breaking point now & these aren't JCL's I'm talking about.
