Duck Egg Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Controversy in Portrait Artist of the Year last night. For the 2nd year running, the judges (& what a pretentious bunch they are) overlooked the obviously talented Portrait artists and opted for the quirky, different but not as good option. Last years winner painted Lenny Henry for the national gallery. He favvered Leon off Curb your enthusiasm. Quote
tshape Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 MasterChef professionals final on now. Really enjoyed this series. Quote

Sort of glad there's another series, but partly think it should've been a standalone, therefore meaning the Jackal fails/dies... Quote

One to watch over the festive period. Is it best to have seen the previous instalments? My favourite two shows this year are The Bear and Disclaimer. Not TV, but also just listened to Gareth Southgate's desert island discs. great listen, even for those who felt alienated by him. Football aside, I could never understand why some people hated him so much. Seems a genuinely nice guy. Quote

Leyther_Matt Posted December 25, 2024 Posted December 25, 2024 Gavin & Stacey was worth the wait, up there with the most laughs from any of the previous episodes. So weird to have had it as an (on/off) constant for most of my adult life and all of a sudden it’s finished. Quote
