FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

  • Sure it's that Mandela effect in full flow here that we all seem to be OK with this. It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow. He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

We are showing an interest in ex-Blackburn Ryan Hedges, along with Lincoln and Barnsley, according to Football League World.

We shouldn't be publicising this kind of thing on here. Can't we keep anything privet?

Aye. Eric Mbappe from Stenhousemuir on a free. Recommended to the club by Gerald Cid.

Nixon reckons a manager is under pressure in the Championship after disagreeing with their DOF about signings.

Twitter mongos reckons it's us.

All seems a bit dramatic.

Unlikely but I’m surprised there isn’t more of it. The poor old manager/H Coach gets the flack if players don’t perform yet they’re often not ones he would have picked. I think the manager should always have the final say on players he’s going to be accountable for.

It almost certainly is about us, like I've said before Schuey had to be convinced about Stephenson and I think Watson as well.

It's nowhere as dramatic as is being made out though, he could have completely vetoed them if he wanted, but didn't because he saw the value in the moves in the end.

He kind of does .

According to the men themselves , all 3 have to agree or the deal doesnt get done . If SS doesnt want someone all he has to do is say so and it doesnt go thru.

More likely to be a problem the other way round . If the manager really wants a player and gets over ruled.

Nah. It's far more likely to be about Sheffield Utd and Chris start-a-fight-in-an-empty-room Wilder

SS has his main man and his system for identifying prospective players. For him to be unsure on those players, his team either didn't identify them, or felt that they weren't quite the fit he wanted.

That would suggest Fergal is having a greater input into the final decision than I would have imagined

He may also be having to consider finances and looking to sell on for profit and build slowly.

I'd be intrigued to know the full details (though we never will) and also whether the other signings were made in a similar way.

Not like the fat Scottish prick to be dramatic and a few of our fans to fall for it.

Broken nothing about our club these last few years, his sources - if he had any - long gone. All his stories are about Preston, Blackburn and Wigan.

If he is implying it’s us he’s guessing.

Iles said on is podcast that the deal for the Liverpool lad was on off because of a disagreement about how much of the limited budget to spend . Does seem a lot for a full back So might be something in it of a bit of a fallout

In Stephensons interview he mentioned he wanted to come after speaking to Fergal, don't think he mentioned Schumacher?

Many moons ago when I did twitter I decided to follow him

It was easier getting into Fort Knox than getting him to accept you

Then he's just full of shit with vague stories "Bolton are interested in x" then when it doesn't happen he can say it was never definitely happening

He's the social media equivalent of clubcall (0891 12 11 64)

Yet he has sycophant followers who hang on every word he says

We were bidding for Watson since January, Stephenson said he was here watching our play off game against Bradford so them two have been in the pipeline a good while. Johnny Kenny wasn't a Schuey signing, he'd probably never heard of him but Fergal had played with his dad & was hell bent on bringing him in. Fergal does seem to have a huge say on transfers & three voices involved in them does seem a little too many chefs in the kitchen... that being said hard to believe it's as messy as being put out there & Nixon's speaking as if the managers going to get axed over it which is laughable. We're not a basket case club anymore, we're well run & in good hands

Reckon he's just read here D

Nixon and Mark Iles seem to know very little about our transfer business these days, maybe that's a good thing.

I've always thought he has too.

To my way of thinking it was noticeable that once again we reverted back to a two-tier style management, Phoenix as head, Hill as coach, now Harkin as head, Schumacher as coach.

Ok, what's in a name but my thoughts are are that Evatt had far too much influence, spaffed millions on a collection of number 10 players the last being a reported £1.3m on Randall at the start of the January 25 window of which he was 'sacked' before it had even closed.

It seemed to me that FV restructured not to let such a thing happen again.

There's nothing bad about having a committee considering prospective recruits and I imagine they all (Harkin, Schumacher and the head of recruitment give and take a little on who they finally decide to go for but Harkin would always have the last say and Schumacher would have known that when he was appointed.

I imagine if Schumacher had any such strong feelings about having a player foisted on him, he would have had words first with Harkin, not the DOF.

I also don't believe that Harkin would foist a player on Schumacher unless in his view he had no choice to do otherwise (maybe there is only so much in the pot to go around and we need to get places filled).

Maybe the deal for Stephenson is seen as an 'investment', ie pay a reported £700k for him now and sell for say £7m in two years time - good for the club if so but from Schumacher's point of view maybe he wanted some of that money for a injury free left back than the two injury prone players we've brought in (Harkin looking long term, Schumacher looking at what's needed now).

If there is truth in Nixon's tale, then that could explain why Schumacher might have said something to the DOF "I could have used some of that money on solid left back rather than take a chance on the two brought in and used the rest to find a solid right back rather than this star of the future we've just spent the money on" type thing.

The concern for me, if there is one, is how the story got to Nixon's ear, if there is any truth in it.

Well tbf he said SS didn't fancy him. And now that rings true.
