We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

From those clips, he looks like he has the qualities and attributes we’ve been looking for; physical enforcer who also looks athletic, skilful, got a good pass on him  and will be box to box.

Excited to see how he fits in.

Its almost as if we have a coaching and recruitment team that analyse every single aspect of our play and pinpoint exaclty what we need.

Then in accordance to the clubs sustainability and options available set about recruiting players to address those needs.

Almost :)

weird one, happy for him though, decent move

Good luck to him. @radcliffe whitejust booked his train tickets for Cambridge away

Hopefully he can do what Toal did, start in the B team and make an impression and become a 1st team staple by the end of the season.

It’s a win/win signing this one. A chance for a young lad to resurrect his career back up north. Start off in the B team and see how he fares. He’ll either get himself up to a lower league level and he’ll move on or he fulfils his early potential breaking into our first 11 and getting to L1/Championship level.

I take it they have a goalscorer already

good luck to them

It's a good test of Matheson's character, going from a million pound player to our B team, but it can be done as Connell has shown, coming back after going to a level too high too soon.

& good luck to Kachunga, always put the effort in & not good enough but not as poor as some made out.

It would be interesting to know why players end up playing for a B team at a L1 club rather than a first team further down the pyramid eg National League?  Eg Sithole has nothing to put on his CV from his time here since leaving Gillingham but if he'd played for a non league team at least he'd have something to show for it at a recognised level.

I'm struggling to "get" the B team, even from the point of view that they hardly play.  I've just looked at their fixtures and I think its 14 in the entire season.  The best players might get 2 or 3 sub appearances in a cup comp for the 1st team, but nobody outside the club is going to take much notice of them unless they are go on loan and that always seems to be at a very low level.

Not knocking it, good luck to them all, I just find it strange.

Maja in at West Brom. Was a nice thought for a day or so..

We play them on an international weekend so will it get called off? Hope so because it’s her indoors birthday and we are going away for the weekend

Its a different topic but I was wondering how many "internationals" we have now?  2 less without Bradley and Trafford.  Still got Charles.  I'm hoping we don't have enough to prompt postponements...

Toal Charles and maybe JDB but not sure if he’s retired? If not there’s your 3

hope it isn’t called off as doing the England game on the Friday and hoping to drive to Cambridge from there on the sat

Would like to see a few of them in the papa John to see how they shape up . Obviously we’re a bit stuck with the stupid rules they have about fielding players but might be able to shoe horn one or two of them in and a couple on the bench

Hopefully it’s an indication that is op went well also .

It is a gamble though because there is always a risk he might not fully recover we have had a few of them over the years

Oh aye. I’m fairly convinced he was off though so long term this may have oddly worked in our favour providing he comes back strong.

Cant see it being much of a risk if we have given him this contract.    Fair play to the lad for earning it.
