I've always made a point of not going off highlights reels. 

.... but I'm going to allow myself to be encouraged. He looks to have attributes we lack in our midfield. Hopefully he's like that all the time.

Shaping up nicely! 

Suspect we'll see some of the more recent signings against Barrow on Tuesday week.

Lets hope our signings from Rochdale, Tranmere, MK Dons, and Port Vale will get us promotion this season. They look promising.

Yes and also the ones from Luton, Chelsea and Brentford?

That Santos lad we signed from Barnet in the National League turned out alright 

Squad looks great now.

I think for me we just need a solid CDM MJ replacement and then maybe a RWB as cover/competition for Cogley 

Being on loan isn't going to prevent me posting this ...

Charles from Accy Stanley & Morley from Rochdale. The list could probably go on. Good to see us signing the best players from these teams.

I really think we need another right woing-back, though

I think @woolli is just merely stating that our scouting networks have done a good job taking other teams best players and they look promising! 

In the same we have done in the past with Santos, Morley, Dempsey etc.

Its looking like a good window at this stage of proceedings.

Don’t know whether you mean from a first team quality point of view (I.e. Darces-Cogley isn’t good enough to be starting RWB), or just from a numbers perspective.

I haven’t seen anything of pre-season so can’t comment on the former, but I reckon with the number of centre backs we have now that Evatt wouldn’t be too bothered about not having exactly 2 players there because Jones is more than good enough to play there if needed.

Wing-back is a pivotal position for the system we play and I don't think we should be going into the season with either Sadlier or Jones as our back-up options

Dacres-Cogley might've done well in pre-season but he was brought in to be second choice

To be honest, assuming John's leaving / not going to be trusted, I'd also like us to sign another left wing-back

Iredale's really either a centre-half or a ful-back, and I've not really seen enough of Ashworth to know how capable he is of playing wing-back but I'm under the assumption he's been brought in as a utiulity player and is, again, more of a full-back than a wing-back

It needs somebody to want them & though it's been clear for ages that we don't want them, there've been no takers.

Sadlier is a decent player even if he doesn't fit in here & seems a decent character so we might get some use out of him if he stays.......but John could brighten up any room (or club ) by leaving so we may have to pay him off to go, but at least it would open up a squad place & save us some wages in the long run.

 

Evatt on BBC RM said watch social media tomorrow for news on Matheson.  Also said we were after a couple of more but suggested nothing imminent.
