We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

It's a good point because when you start putting in seven figure bids it seems to get easier to be gazumped - at 300k to 500k there are less clubs trying to step in it seems. A million is small change to some clubs who might be looking for squad fillers and are prepared to nudge up the price by a few hundred grand to get them, but in the lower end of the market fewer clubs are interested in that. Plus selling clubs seem to think if you're able to put up a million, why not make it 1.2m or 1.3m?

Dembele, Armstrong, McAtee and McCowan would all be great but we can't be expected to shell out enough to fight off interest from the rich clubs. Let's just hope that something materialises.

Slightly different slant is that as we are looking at £1m players they are going to be off better quality and potentially holding out for a Championship club, as the window gets closer to closing those players maybe come more likely to agree to join an ambitious League One club.

Doubt we are paying anything but a nominal fee. Suit both parties

For Odei-Tutu, definitely. It's the others with a sound track record that are proving harder work.

Millwall thought SJM & Branagan weren't good enough for them..... I could go on.

Toal was playing hurling and Santos standing on the ball at Barnet before us.

McAteer wasn't a 1st team regular at Marine iirc.

Bought him for 10 new footballs iirc

Yep.

We can also look at the opposite situation, where we've spent decent money and arguably not got our money's worth.

I'm sure there must have been some who weren't impressed when we bought Anelka 😁

Don't..... I still haven't got over Len Cantello

Paid 500 quid for him IIRC, do remember a bag of balls as well!

£300k + for CMG and Nlundulu seems mental

Bloke behind me used to call him rotten.

Got into a heated "debate" with a lad sat behind me for saying pretty much similar about Sturridge

Or Neil Mcnab

Yeah, for every Per Frandsen there is always a Matt Mills😞

CMG looked good once he got fit.

Whether he will get back there again, especially after such a severe injury, is another question.

Hope he does, but with others arriving, there'll be no guarantee of a place.

CMG looked good in one game. I think he could be good but we as a fan base have no idea.

Big Dan is shit or bust this year I reckon

CMG looked better than he had done in a game. Since he’s been injured his impact has really grown. I hope he is back before the end of the window as folk will have him valued at 40 millions

He could be a good player for us. Looks like a winger from what I’ve seen but who knows. Hope he can be ‘like a new signing’

£300k is pocket change in today's barmy world.

To many extra words there. Should just be Big Dan is shit!

Dan is too far down the list now

Vic, Collins & Dion scored pre season and Vic does look sharp tbf

I've backed Collins league 1 top scorer at 25/1

Think he'll play more games than Dion & Vic
