All these names springing up.  Lusty will not sleep tonight.

Wouldn't want to disappoint you so now we're on first name terms you won't mind if I just call you Wanker for short?

Anyhoo, it's spooky that McCowan's name has popped up as I also watched him spare Dundee's blushes as he snatched a draw against newly promoted United in the opening day derby. Solid player with a fair bit of bite and quality, a leader and (yet) another left-footer. Similar role but not in the same class as Callum McGregor - but still pretty decent.

Interesting that we bid for him but the competition's tough - even Celtic are interested.

We'd do well to get him but it would have to be a helluva sales job. Maybe Scotty Arfield knows him and can put in a good word for us?

The signing that puzzles me, not difficult I know? 🙂 is the McAtee one. Surely if Luton want him out and the lad himself wants to leave, then what’s taking so long if two or three clubs have bid? Luton aren’t flush with money so I’m sure a fee would help them reinforce and surely the lad himself will want to start the season with his new club. I get the European delays but this one I can’t work out not getting done?

Money. On the player’s/agent’s part.

i read somewhere (might be this thread) that both Bolton and Wrexham had bids accepted by Luton. Wrexham had offered a higher salary, but Bolton offered the player a better opportunity to return to the Championship.

If correct, they may be holding out for a better offer from us or others. Do we blink?

Luton came down with a £40m parachute.

McAtee despite never starting would have been on a decent Prem wage, I guess Luton paid most of his wages at Barnsley.

As @Rival Son has said McAtee will want a good whack.  Didn’t IE mention last week he only wanted players who were motivated to play for us and not just money, suspect this was aimed at McAtee.

The other thing I can’t figure is, Luton are a Champo side but deem Macatee not good enough, otherwise why sell? If we sign him and get promoted to the Champo, we have a player who seemingly isn’t good enough for that level.

Or maybe, they think they have (or can get) better players and they're looking to build a squad for a return to the Premier League?
