The other thing I can’t figure is, Luton are a Champo side but deem Macatee not good enough, otherwise why sell? If we sign him and get promoted to the Champo, we have a player who seemingly isn’t good enough for that level.

1. There's a big difference between a champ team expecting to be top 6 and one that would settle for finishing 6th bottom

2. We aren't in the championship, we are very much in L1.  We need to sign better players for L1 and if we get up we can sign players for the championship but we have to be realistic who we can attract/afford currently.

If promoted we'd have to make a few signings to stay up anyway.

But clubs sell players for lots of reasons, not just being considered "not good enough" e.g. "doesn't fit with the system we want to play" (Dapo?).

Could be anything - shagging the manager's missus - who knows.

We're trying to get out of L1, he's good enough to help us do that

He may well be good enough to help us stay in the championship if we get there

Luton have £40m in their pocket and probably fancy a crack at top 6, and can probably do better

Their circumstances and ambitions have certainly changed since they signed him

Came through at Arsenal....Had loan spells at Forest, Cardiff and Rotherham......Scored a 96min equaliser in EFL final against Sutton for Rotherham and helped them to promotion. Rotherham wanted him back the following season but Arsenal sold him to Bochum on a three year deal

I've checked WW Verify, and it was against Sutton 😀

Very hard to get excited about this.

What would it take for you to be excited?

I doubt those sorts of players are available/in our price range.

We will just have to see.

Fwiw, I'm convinced one or two will be off, and maybe the odd one may raise an eyebrow

Interesting one, right back turned right winger. Loaned out to play in Greece last season. Should be cheap.

Sorry to quote myself but is their any word on the fee?

I would be excited by us signing players with a proven track record at top end of league one or championship. This lad has been knocking about for a years and in recent time has not made an impact. He was on loan in Greece last year. Not sure what there is in his career to be excited about. I will give him a chance when he gets here and he turns out to be a great signing but as I say hard to be excited, when we have been talking about £1m signings.

You just have to believe our recruitment team know what they are doing

Aye, but by that logic you would have to say every signing is exciting.
