FFS. This isn't Behind The Stands. Most folk come on here to read bullshit rumours and conjecture, with the odd bit of accurate stuff thrown in. It's boring as fuck reading your personal squabbles.

We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

No, no-one did. He'd spent the best part of 18m on the bench at best. We assumed he wasn't up to much as Evatt (in whom, apparently, we trust(ed) )didn't.

It seems, with the right care, there was still a player there. It's just that Evatt did give the right care & we didn't see it .

As I said, I don't think he'd be in the First XI even now.

I don’t think we are too far away in our opinion of Morley, which in turn probably isn’t far away from Evatt’s.

There’s a player there, we’ve seen that at Wycombe and in his first 18 months with us. He went stale (Evatt could be questioned here) but he valued him enough to extend his contract and not write-off his time here by sending him on loan to prove himself.

That means he either comes back a better player for us (but like you I’m still not sure he’s in our best 11), or we sell him on for cash (more now than what we would have cause he’s under extended contract)

Where we may disagree is how much we ostracise Evatt, on the Morley situation.

Personally I feel those being overly critical on Evatt for this situation are blowing with the wind. They’d find fault whatever the situation. If he’d gone to Wycombe and been shit we’d be listening to what a waste it was extending his contract, how Evatt had wrecked his career and what a bad signing he’d been.

I go back to the point I made earlier, Evatt is getting a lot wrong at the moment, but that doesn’t mean that every decision he makes or has made in the past should be criticised. And in my opinion, moving Morley on, on loan shouldn’t be one to be throwing shit at him for.

Imagine we’re talking £250k at the very most for Morley.

Strange one. Unheard of January signing who fitted in straight away. Very tidy and barely seemed to miss a pass for the duration of his first season.

By the next season you realise he’s anonymous and the game passes him by a lot of the time and his passing isn’t as good.

I think I was saying the exact same about Medo Kamara ten years ago.

Agreed. I also accept that I've gone fully postal about Evatt. I don't like his shoes, disagree with his choice of chewing gum and would find fault with him if he was to present me with the Euro Millions winning cheque.

I want him to start being consistently positive in his results. I'm waaaay to far gone to believe he will but that is in his own hands. Do that & he can do wtf he wants with Morley.

Not considering he's on a three year deal.

It wouldn't give us much to get in a decent replacement, ready to drop straight into the team.

Also remember, they're top of the league. For an integral part of that team, with the potential financial bonus of championship football, they surely would have to pay more.

I could see Santos being sold in January not signed a contract extension.

I think we'll also let Conway leave

Really?

Others would have you believe he’s turned into Maldini at Crewe.

Based on Evatt's comments when he was loaned out, I don't think that's the case.

And if it is, then it's another slap in the face for our youth set up.

Santos yes,if he won't sign a new contract

Can't see us getting rid of Conway

I wouldn't hang him over Morley - he wasn't playing well for an extended period of time. But how much of that was due to the manager/system?

If we have a talented player at the club and they leave because we can't get the best out of them, that falls on the manager. And he's not the only one - I think there are more than a few we haven't been getting the best out of.

Useful caveat: The number of Wycombe Wanderers games I've seen this season is 0.

Like most I suppose, I’ve watched them twice on TV and they look a really strong side. They absolutely love Morley so I’m sure if the price is right they’ll keep him, possibly with an add on if they do go up but either way he just doesn’t suit Evatt’s system so I suspect it’s either Wycombe or some other club on loan or sold rather than here.

Conway's out of contract at the end of this season, is of an age where his career needs to begin now, is seemingly enjoying himself at his current club where's he playing regularly, and is probably unlikely to displace Schon in our staring line up

All the signs point in one direction to me and that's him leaving while at a time we can earn a fee from his sale

I sincerely hope not but given Evatt’s history with young players it wouldn’t surprise me if he was allowed to leave if he’s not going to get a shot with the first team squad. Crewe are a good club and have a good chance of promotion this year so a move there might just suit.

Isn't that the point though, we're not really bringing lads through either here, or to others for money.

I prefer us to have a youth set up, but can understand the clamour not to bother.

He may not displace Schon, but we do need more than one for a position.

Williams will have a year left on his contract at the end of the season, and certainly isn't going to get better.

If Evatt is getting rid of players in January, as he says, then perhaps he's the sort of player that could be going, possibly on loan.

We'll see soon enough.

Williams needs moving on. Never replacing Schon and is another of these players Evatt signed that is  injured just too many times.

He is not on his own theres five or six others

Conway and Schon are both young and both will improve and i do not think you will see the best  from them both until a new manager comes in and we go to a back four.

I'm unconvinced we'll offer him a new contract or that he'd sign one

If he were a year or two younger, it might've been a different matter

If the stories on the other thread have a factual basis, then maybe some of the youth need to be kept and brought into the fold.

Get shut of any senior trouble makers.

I know it's not Evatt - but remember the prodigy that was Alex Samizadeh?

He went on to score 9 goals in his career. 2 for Chorley and 7 for Leatherhead.
