We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

Good luck to him.  Not the best season for him, but he’s the type of striker I think who plays better the more games he has.  More of less said he’s left because he’s not been getting enough minutes on the pitch.  That again is down to Evatt buying players we didn’t need and playing a system such doesn’t work.  The lads been forced out in effect. Bonkers when at league 1 level he’s proven to get 20 goals a year.

I hope JR becomes the player we need him to be.  In effect he’s cost us Dion plus £500k 🙄.

It's a fucking travesty and complete shitshow.

He's our most prolific striker by a country mile, has been absolutely brilliant for us, scored over 20 in back to back seasons.

And we've just let him go for peanuts to bloody Huddersfield.

Fucking shambles.

could be £2 million for all we know

We have spent the money and some on a midfield we didn’t need .

It's not. And we didn't spend over mill on Randall either.

I know it's not, I'm just saying it's undisclosed so we don't know how much it was, I'm guessing about 600k plus add-ons, not really peanuts.

Will wait and see who the replacement is

I get the impression the amounts (with add-ons) are fairly similar (Iles reckoned JR £800k plus).

Either way, my summary of it all is similar to yours. A shitshow.

Yup. Think they're just trying to comfort themselves. It's beyond belief what they've done here. It's as if we're actively  trying to throw our season away with each passing week.

I said it would never happen last week it sounded so daft :D

I have to agree.

I really hope I’m wrong, but I think it’s a really poor decision by the club.

I can’t think of anything positive about our best striker going off to a club who are poised for promotion.

And then the salt in the wound about their ambitions and positivity around the club. We read it and we know he’s not wrong 🙁

So did Evatt!

Dion is a frustrating watch for the most part. Easily muscled out, rolls around on the deck constantly and not as fast as you would think. But he is a hard working goal scorer that we are crazy to get rid of, especially considering how awful Vic is and with Mcatee showing no signs of getting to the required standard.

Randall is the kind of player suited to an already defensively solid team desperately needing to create more. Not the right fit for us where we’re at currently.

A bad window so far to add to the disappointing summer recruits. Feel we’re going backwards at an alarming rate.

I'm not ok with it pal and I'm not sure many on here are.

I'm also not ok with the thought of our manager being given even more money to spunk on players, given his recent track record.

You need to remember we are only 4 points off the play offs. In good hands. Defo not a sinking ship

Could it be that Dion was causing problems in the dressing room (A la sarcevic) and it was decided to get rid before he did more damage?

Only hope they've got someone lined up to replace him that is better, be it a loan or a permanent. He'd be 1 of the 1st names on the team sheet for me so it is a head scratcher.

If you look at most successful teams they usually just have one player that lacks athletic ability and/or work rate to make room for their skill or technical abilities (maybe two if favourites at home.

We now have Jones / Johnstone / Williams / Morley / Thomason / Sheehan / Collins / Victor / Randall.

our two there should be Sheehan and Collins. Maybe Randall if one of them is missing.

We sometimes play up to 6 of the above listed players in one side, its no wonder we’re getting steamrolled against any side that’s remotely up for it.

I suppose Charles was our one forward with pace. But let us see who comes in.

Ultimately I think the defence is our main worry, some of our centre halves are just not up to it. Santos is our best defender but his mistakes/lack of judgment are now more frequent. i understand there is a lot of pressure on him but he would benefit from having better players around him.

Is Forino due to return any time soon? I believe Toal is on his way back, we have missed his determination and pace.
