Prime Nathan Blake

Might as well be looking for the fucking Holy Grail.

Our defence is fucking shocking at the moment. I'd be looking to shore up that area first.

It’s a good point. I was considering this earlier.

I’d like to think Collins and McAtee will get a clear run for a few games now. A bit of time together might help build the partnership. And it might provide a little bit more confidence knowing they aren’t going to be turfed out of the team every other game.

Plus there’s the added bonus of Evatt not spunking millions for players who are going to need 6 months to learn his system 😊

You can give Collins and McAtee as long a run together as you like but it won’t bear fruit. Both are support acts, too similar and won’t compliment each other. Until Evatt signs a proper leader up top to hold the ball up and bring others into play, none of our so called strikers will succeed. In fact we could have done worse than Evatt eating some humble pie and bringing Bod back for the remainder of the season. He knows the players, the system and the problems which an under 21 won’t.

Rumour is it's this had from Newcastle

Scored his first goal in cup last week

That wouldn't be a first loan as he had a spell at Derby on loan in 22/23 but the BEN article/IE waffles on about a first loan without actually relating it to the supposed target.

Absolutely Cheese and so would any competent manager. I watched Salop v Wrexham last night and after the game listened to Ainsworth saying his first job was to tighten up the defence and on last nights showing he’s done that, now he’s happy with that he says it’s midfield and attack but he considers that possessions irrelevant its what you do with the ball when you have it that counts, no good scoring if you’re giving 2 or 3 away at the back. Common sense which clearly our idiot lacks completely. Midfield and attack first never mind about our pathetic defence!

Dunno but on the other hand it says first loan away from their parent club which would technically be correct as he was on loan from Sheffield Utd not Newcastle

Never heard of him but see Newcastle paid £10m for him in the summer

No idea though, I'm just sharing WhatsApp rumours

Got to agree everytime a team attack I fear we will concede and this goal kicking fecking about at the back is embarrassing.

Good. There's no way that lazy twat is going to jog back into the dressing room at half time for a good injection of Evatt's DNA

I think we have the bodies we need in defence, a better idea might be to get them playing with confidence, being a bit more direct, and getting to midfield quicker, plus getting better protection from said midfield (which I think Matete offers but he doesn't always start)

we definitely lack presence up top, wouldn't like to think we go the rest of the season with just McAtee, Collins and Vic

I think he's only blanked in 5 games this season

scored against all the 'big boys'

I would argue getting the midfield ‘solid’ will help the defence improve massively, the defenders spend have their time worrying about people flooding through the midfield.

Also cut down on how easily we let balls get crossed into the box

aye

I'd put midfield bastard and prime drogba ahead of a new defender, but think Matete can do a job, and if we did bring in said bastard, we'd then be looking at dropping Sheehan or GT which I can't see happening much either, we'd almost have too many options - so again, I'd look to change the formation / approach in midfield before bringing in another body

of course if we could bring in better players in any position I'd do that, but would look up top first

I saw the goals this morning (and good to see even Wrexham get punished for fannying around at the back) but even though they lost, that goal Wrexham scored was one of those where its like we play a different game, we simply don't have the option to hang a cross upto the far post and convert with a towering header.  It takes me back to the Kev Davies era, but some teams still use it and that's what we're up against, while we are having to put 10+ accurate passes together just to get a weak shot away.

There aren't many players I take a dislike to, but I really don't like him.  His attitude is like a spoiled brat, and he's a lazy bastard, only interested in joining in if there's a chance of him scoring.  Greedy, overrated, overpaid tool, it would wind me up having to watch him strutting around every week then picking arguments like a big entitled kid.

I like most other Prem players though.

Is Lankshear definitely the one? I thought maybe from the comments it could be Mubama from City now they've signed the Egyptian striker.

Could be, to be fair, or even Jayden Danns. We'll find out later hopefully.

We are consistently really weak at limiting scope for crosses into our box, on either side, lazy powder puff efforts at closing wingers down that are easily bypassed. Mansfield, in both games, showed it up, Rotherham also last week
