Think people forget Bolton is a bit rough sometimes when they are shocked by our fans behaviour

I'd say the culprits are, more often than not, wet behind the ears call of duty gimps who've never seen the real world or had a punch in the face tbf.

When stood on a BWFC away end It's really hard not to fall in to the "youth of today" type comments that our grandparents used to use but I am confident it's not much different with other clubs.

The older you get the less you tolerate anti-social behaviour. It was going on in the later 70s and 80s when I was being taken to the match and usually with much more violent and frightening undertones.

Brian Clough used to get angry with politicians who wanted to bundle society's ill's on to football because it was convenient to do so. It's certainly where poor behaviour manifests itself in a bright spotlight but its just a part of a wider malaise.

It'd be interesting to go back in a tardis to the 50s and before and see if people's behaviour then really was better than standards since. Another cliche older folk used to come out with was "give em national service" and they said it because they knew a couple of years in the military had matured them.

Bottom line though: It's a perennial debate is this and there's not much new under the sun! Younger folk have growing up to do.

That's right Paul.

We've always had delinquency.

That said, there is without doubt a lack of respect and level of behaviour now, which seems far worse than previously.

Lots to discuss, but for another thread perhaps.

Evatt made a lot of the Bradley and Trafford city and Liverpool link at the time saying they trusted us with there players and clubs were throwing players at us for loans ect and it looked a promising link up .
Then a total change of tac saying we had moved on from loan signings to permanent. Never really made any sense saying the way he wanted us to play were not getting anyone close to a Bradley unless it’s a loan

Reality is that, following the outstanding Trafford and Bradley we took on other loans from City & Liverpool, plus one from Stretford and they showed nothing like the same ability.

Maghoma last year was a good 'un, and Matete this has ability but less so & people on here will say he's crap (he isn't, btw).

We're 3rd tier. We won't be first choice of loan for Premier clubs. We'll see how Murphy settles but early signs are decent.

Scott Arfield - 4 goals in 2 games for Falkirk FFS

Falkirk fought back from two goals down to salvage a draw at home to title rivals Ayr United and stay top of the Scottish Championship.

The visitors took control with Jay Henderson's penalty and a George Oakley strike.

But Liam Henderson pulled one back on the stroke of half-time before returning hero Scott Arfield scored his fourth goal in two games to draw the hosts level.

I can’t comprehend how bad the Scottish second tier is. This info only enhances my thought train.

Remember Stephen Dobbie being like Messi in that Scottish champ league after he left us. A true legend of queen of the south folklore.

I know someone who was an assistant manager at one of the better SPL teams. His view was that the league was comparable to L1 in the main, obviously with Celtic, and Rangers to a lesser extent, a higher standard.

Based on that, and admittedly without watching much (or any) of the Scottish championship, I’ve got it at a similar level to the national league. The fact Arfield appears to taking it to pieces would back up that view.

Yes Dobbie had ridiculous goal stats at QoS and to give him his due he was still scoring at nearly 40.  We can mock the standard but we've had plenty of strikers that wouldn't have 169 goals in their career if they were playing in NW Counties for 20 years.  I've seen a lot worse than him when he came here and he was about 33 then, scored a decent number at championship level for a few clubs.

That seems a fair assessment, and National League isn't a bad standard anyway, not far below L2 which isn't far below L1.  The differences between those bottom 3 divisions is nothing like going from L1 to championship and definitely nothing like going from championship to Prem.

Going off topic but I'd be in favour of 3 up from National League to reflect the standard in that league, a lot of biggish clubs there that would improve the EFL but only 2 clubs get the chance each year.

We can and we will rotten. I reckon @White Shirtcould score in the Scottish championship. I’ll call it Daisy Hill levels

There's a big campaign ongoing by the National League and it's clubs to persuade the EFL to agree to that change

Yeah but Queens Park are better than Man City. Spurs beat City (twice), Rangers avoided defeat v Spurs, Queens Park won at Ibrox. Daisy Hill up there with City based on that.

Whilst I’d rather Charles fail at hudd rather than us. Still seems to be a bit of a shame.

Not exactly the best man management

Bit harsh that !

I don’t think so - seems fair enough to drop someone for playing poorly having given them every chance to prove themselves.

Etete got slaughtered by our fans for one poor 20 odd minute performance and Dion’s had 6 games to do something for Huddersfield so I don’t think their fans will be too upset - other than regretting the money they paid us.

I don't think it's the fact he's been dropped itself that's the issue

I honestly don’t get the fascination in Dion. He’s gone.
