Just give me the 98 points 100 goal squad again

It had everything

Without looking, who you guessing was the only player who played all 46 league games that season

I imagine we can't compete with Huddersfield on wages though. Not now.

Why? Have they got a billionaire owner?

With larger attendances, associated leisure facilities, such as the hotel and function rooms, and the cash cow that is the car parks, I feel certain that our turnover from business operations will be higher than theirs. If so, only owner investment would make them more competitive than us.

Gerry McElhinney from an earlier era.  Mid Ulster Boxing champion and All Ireland Gaelic Football semi finalist.

Soon sort some of these fannys out.

Same. One of my fave players. Gutted when he went to Leicester

Taggart the better footballer of those two but McElhinney not too bad and definitely a hard man. Every other game he ended up with a bandage around his head and blood all over the shop.

11 players with 33+ appearances, that level of consistency was a massive bonus.

Branagan

Bergsson
Fairclough
Taggart
Phillips

Johansen
Sellars
Frandsen
Thompson

McGinlay
Blake

What a team!

What a team!

It was the midfield options

We had loads

I'm trying to figure out who played where

I had Johansen/lee right and sellars left with Thompson though am sure the latter played more central

But still had plenty games for Pollock and Sheridan so they must've been middle with frandsen

It also seems like no one got injured much

Just been having a Google

Didn't realise Sellers played 200+ games for Blackburn

He's also 59 which makes me feel old

Yeah, I was just shoehorning the 11 with 33+ games into a team.

I’d rather we had a go for Langstaff from Millwall who would probably be cheaper but more proven. No saying they’d let him go but he hasn’t played much there and they may prefer to recoup some of the reputed £700k they spent for him?

Don't know anything about Langstaff, but he's only scored 1 in 26 since he signed for Millwall from Notts County, not sure he'd be a better signing and he's not a big striker either.

My god what a squad!

The fact that Sheridan only played 19 times (and Pollock 20) speaks volumes for top quality midfield options..

Sensational!

Sheridan only joined before Christmas iirc

Pollock I’m sure was one of the early Bosmans at Osasuna and in my head was Jan time

They were still getting parachute payments a couple of years back.  We'd blown a lot on fees, wages & signing on fees for McAtee, Lolos and Randall.

Oh aye, forgot about that! 😂

Talk about building while on top. That’s one hell of a signing to bolster up your midfield when bossing the division.

Did we get an injury? Tomo? Nah he played last game at Burnden. Without looking Todd must have rotated them around

Maybe it’s the way they played him and maybe he can’t cut it in the Championship but his record with Notts was sensational and if he could repeat that he would be a steal.

They splashed out on Charles though..

When I left highschool, we had a big football match, I took my school shirt off and wrote TAGGART, a massive number 5 on the back of it and then a cheeky captains armband

And they paid a reported £4m for the other striker who they signed at the same time.
