We've just won promotion using a gaggle of players nobody else wanted, littered with injury plagued loanees and players that were cast as cart horses, one trick ponies and generally weak as piss.

  • Like when we went up from league 2, we needed tried and tested players from that specific division/level to deal with the task in hand. Doyle and Sarcs etc. We need exactly the same in this divis

All I really want to know from this thread is when we sell McAtee.

Can I set up an alert to let me know I can set the fireworks off?

We’ve got other players to move out before we even think of letting McAtee go. The constantly injured like Demps, Desmond CMG and Lolos can go first and that would give us ten places to go at. Since Fergal indicated a smaller squad next season I’d cut that down to five or six coming in. We should start to get an idea after the weekend and the window opens.

Spot on, at least give him a chance in his best position which is in the box not chasing defenders down or being asked to hold the ball up for others. I agree he’s limited in some respects but let’s at least give him a try there before completely writing him off.

How about giving our youngsters - Abimbola and Lewis - a go. He’s had two seasons to prove himself already. Get him fit and farm him out on loan during the second half of the season.

How about we just sign a striker?

We still have Dan ?

I think that’s a given. We need a number 9. I’m talking about backup. Sooner have the kids than Vic or Dan.

That would seem more sensible than "giving everyone a go" as if we're playing a load of testimonials.

Hopefully when we're playing Stockport or Barnsley they're giving unproven/not very good strikers a go, rather than using players with the qualities we struggle to cope with.

Thankfully SS is now upto speed with how lacking we are and he won't be dishing out appearances to non league standard players.

You can have my kids for the weekend if you're that arsed.

Ledson apparently going to Huddersfield according to Nixon

Been on the cards for a while but I wondered if bringing in a novice manager who may or may not be there at Christmas might have changed things?

Agreed terms   .

Difficult to overtate how damaging the expensive, poor and samey type signings that we made in Evatts last 12 months. White elephants.

You'd think that would be how it plays out, he gets fit in time for Jan window opening and gets a loan for rest of season, unless we've an injury crisis at that time

Sounds the ideal solution, I just wonder how many teams would take a lad on loan who has been out for about 9 months....

we've ended up getting 10mil for Trent then he can play in that club world cup

We likely were in for him but we’ve never been a club in recent years to be throwing massive wages to tempt free agents so this isn’t a surprise considering he’s one of the standout champ free agents willing to drop down. If you’re joining a club this early, having a move on the cards like that then it screams Hudds being the first club to match his big wage demands & he’s jumped at the chance not believing his luck as let’s be honest that club will be in desperation mode after the shit show second half of a season they had. It’s not so much Ledson himself who is a priority for us, it’s just the profile of player which he fits as we need a few of them types to set the standards week in week out and be able to lead on the pitch, I’m confident we’ll have a good window & get a few good sorts in as we’ve neglected it for five years it’s paramount this summer we get it right.

Something dodgy going on here to do with this club World Cup.

They've already come out and said that there might be a way for Ronaldo to transfer to another club so that he can play in it, and now suddenly Real are happy to pay £10m just so TAA can play in it.

Stinks of FIFA chucking some cash around to clubs behind the scenes to manipulate the level of ‘stardom’ and interest in their tournament. There’s no way that Real actually value one month of Trent’s services at £10m, unless it’s being heavily subsidised.

Oh and apparently Inter Miami got a “special invitation”. Fuck off, the Papa John’s has more credibility.

I think people need to accept this is gonna be a big tournament sooner or later.

But whoever wins it will be saying its a great trophy to win, and they'll show "fans" celebrating.

And then there will be those saying its great experience for some of the fringe players to get used to playing against foreign teams etc etc, we've heard all the "justifications" before for all the newly invented tournaments.  When the only reason really is money and trying to normalise wall to wall televised football.

I challenge that his best position is in the box. I think his best position is left back in the changing room

Ha, you might be right but my thoughts are based on how well he did there for Burton who moved him in there off the wing. I think if he has any chance here it’s that or loan when he’s fit then bye bye but despite all the let downs from him I still think there’s a player in there somewhere. But then I have been wrong before! 😁

Lincoln football director confirmed a deal agreed for Roughan but not who with. Could it be us? We should find out Sunday one way or the other but would be a good signing to start us off.

100 plus million to the winners.

I’d love to see the European sides fielding their youth teams. But with that kind of prize money on offer they won’t be.

Hopefully the viewing figures send a message.

Mad to think that City’s season starts again when this does. They’ll be fcked come October.
