Think last time we went up from League One it was said to be worth £6m to the club.

How many seasons would you have to go back before we've made that much on transfers?

Any return on investment the owners are looking for will only come when we get out of this league.

£4m of that £6m will be used to repay the bond holders… 😏

His latest one is Sam Nombe from Rotherham. “Good sources” 😂

That would be a vary Wootton-esquire signing but to be fair Nombe is a good shout, very much a battler and physical presence and with the feed he’d get from Gale and ACD quite a potent force.

Is it not also the case that Kenny "might" be shit hot at L1 level, whereas Taylor has played 3 seasons in L1 and has effectively confirmed that he isn't going to be pulling up trees, if we're talking about scoring stats.

118 games, 25 goals in his career.  McAtee: 85 games, 23 goals in his last 2 seasons, who's better?  (and I'm the first to say its not all about stats, but over a million for less goals than McAtee, Collins or Charles?).

I think you're right enough that there's a mystery box element to Kenny which is why parts of the internet have decided he's the new Jamie Vardy.

However, to be fair to Taylor he's the same age as Charlie Warren. Mason Burstow and Sam Dalby have also played 118 EFL games between them and scored 7 goals.

At 21 McAtee had scored 4 in 50 in career spent mostly in the National League North and Northern Premier. Ivan Toney (aka the old Dan Nlundulu) was scoring 4 in 24 for Wigan in League One.

No idea what Taylor will turn out to be, but who he is at 21 isn't his ceiling as a footballer. And even then it's a pretty decent record he's got.

Fair comments, bottom line is he isn't an "Alfie May/Le Fondre/" type proven L1 guarantee of goals, but I respect the fact that the likes of Steve Bruce see his potential.  But definitely not in the true goalscorer bracket  NOW, and he's too small to be the target man type.  I can see why we aren't spending a million on him.

Mcatee could score a hatrick Saturday and people would still be calling him shit.

Same people who are calling for Dion Charles to come back despite having not scored in about 30 games

I disagree with your gross generalisation.

I think McAtee is shit, but I'm also glad Charles isn't here. Many people feel this way too.

Why would Rotherham even contemplate selling him? He scored 2 at the weekend didn’t he? Can’t see them jeopardising their own season unless the money was way over what he’s worth and that surely isn’t happening. He ain’t that good anyway.

Grealish to Everton

Career in freefall

Sad to see

I didn’t say we should or have any intention of doing, I was just commenting on Desperado’s comment about the rumour but felt that having seen him play probably more than most on here, thought he wouldn’t be a bad addition. Rotherham like us would sell any player if the price was right but I agree it’s not going to happen anyway so we can leave it there. 😁

Correct. I don't know what the 2 opinions have to do with one another: McAtee being useless seems a pretty reasonable position and I've not seen anyone calling for Charles to return.

Was catching up on PL transfers yesterday

Didn't realise Arsenal had signed Viktor Gyökeres, not sure he's the answer but good to see they've finally signed a striker

Also saw they'd signed Noogaard from Brentford, and replaced with Henderson

who've also sold Mbuembo whislt Wissa wants out

Chuck in Keith Andews as manager

Is why I just put £25 on them to go down at 3/1

Nice bet

Definitely think the promoted teams got a better chance of staying up bar Burnley

The way Burnley don't conceed might give them half a chance.

This PSR bollocks is fuckin ridiculous.

Does nothing more than to protect the big boys and stop anyone breaking the gang up.

Frank leaving Brentford is like Big Sam leaving us

Then bringing in Andrews is like bringing in Lee

They'll go one season soon now

Newcastle having a shocking window

Missed all their targets

Isak wants out

Gordon being linked with a move away

Even Wilson has fucked off to West Ham

Strange things on the toon,   allegedly missed their top 6 targets.    Are the richest club in the world being very frugal with the wages on offer  ?   Personally I would like to see them up there again this season but recruits are needed.

They can't offer big wages due to PSR.

It's why they keep getting blown out of the water.

Richest club on the planet yet can't spend it.

OK for United though, they've built their empire on buying who they want when they want.

And Sunderland!  They could hardly buy a win in the championship last few months, they'll be another Ipswich.

Leeds are the only one's that might make a fist of it, otherwise another season of no relegation battle or jeopardy for the likes of Everton, Brentford, Man U, Spurs

But if Andrews has them bottom 4 or 5 he'll be sacked before Christmas, and they'll bring in an experienced manager and spend in Jan.  Probably won't even cost a lot to get rid of Andrews, relatively as he was the cheap option.

If McAtee was half the player he seems to think he is he would be Premier League.

One of the most frustrating and disappointing players we have ever signed.

maybe

maybe not

losing Frank and the players he used to have them challenging top half every year isn't going to do them any favours though

they've already made what on paper looks like a terrible appointment in Andrews, and if it proves to be the case, who's to say they'll make better ones when they bring a new manager in

wait and see I guess
