I saw a tweet saying something similar earlier, but with all the focus on getting a forward in I am surprised there hasn't been more talk of Dale Taylor being on the radar seeing as he's available.

Sam Smith at Wrexham as well, now 3rd choice at best.

Dale Taylor as signed for Blackpool i think?

He is doing imminently I believe, but that's the point, he's available for a reasonable fee for his age and experience. That's why it's interesting/confusing that we don't seem to have been in for him.

He's scored a few goals in Ireland, the standard is non league fodder

Not just you, but plenty on EDL Craig's group are suggesting we just chuck a million quid at some kid who's been playing in Ireland like he's guaranteed to be this 15-20 goal a season man we need

It's all a bit dramatic

That Craig

is at it at least 3 times a Day

We need a Striker

some real Wallopers on there

Probably one of them that sent in to Bolton FM at half time on Sunday that we should sign a striker even if it costs £2m.

Right fuckin not rights out there.

I would guess it's because when Harkin and SS got together and came up with a list of targets, Dalby and Kenny topped it

we got one, and the other one is not dead yet, we clearly want him as we bid £500k for him - now we're just going through the motions with Celtic, and will be doing throughout August, until we either sign him, or it becomes apparent it is definitely not happening - but he's the #1 target and they will continue to pursue him until it's no longer possible

if that happens, hopeflly they'll turn their attention elsewhere (as in we still have the time), they'll have other names in mind, Taylor might be one, but by then, it might be too late if he's signed up elsewhere

guess that's the risk you take when you come up with a list of targets and then stick to it, until they become unavailable to you

or maybe they were never interested in Taylor because he's not the type of forward we're after

well, maybe somebody who matters doesn't think its reasonable?

or hes too expensive, be that fee or wages

could be one of many reasons

I think the main one is they want Kenny, he's the #1 target, though he's also too expensive, if Celtic still want £1M up front

Taylor is going for "in excess of £1M"

that's with 3 seasons on loan in League 1 under his belt

Kenny has zero league experience and only scored in Ireland, which is probably why we only bid £500k

Nah, they score goals why on earth would we want them? 🙂

alternatively, we may be busting a gut to get him bit not shouting from the rooftops

Didn’t we steal Erhahon at the last minute from Wigan? It’s not done til it’s done.

Looks a good prospect, was hoping we would be interested

I assumed we'd signed Burstow because we'd given up on Ahadme but maybe not

we appear to be skint according to EDL

His latest one is Sam Nombe from Rotherham. “Good sources” 😂

it is, and it's been the clear stated aim of the club for the past 3 seasons

And if anyone doubts this, just fuck off to the Bolton News/Craig’s list, where you’ll be much more at home.

Is it not also the case that Kenny "might" be shit hot at L1 level, whereas Taylor has played 3 seasons in L1 and has effectively confirmed that he isn't going to be pulling up trees, if we're talking about scoring stats.

118 games, 25 goals in his career.  McAtee: 85 games, 23 goals in his last 2 seasons, who's better?  (and I'm the first to say its not all about stats, but over a million for less goals than McAtee, Collins or Charles?).
