So last season we had a team full of ineffective no 10s..

We're going for a team full of wingers now?

Tbf we'll have Gale, Cissoko, ACD, Warren & Forss who can mostly play in other positions if needed

Decent recruitment considering we didn't have any wingers only a few months ago.

Think folk forget without wingers we were nullified in to playing a handful of formations.

I don't think we'll ever see shitter recruitment for that 10 position then we did under IE ... Ever

Obviously I've never seen this guy play, but we're crying out for proven EFL goals and he's scored pretty regularly. 11 in 18 last time he was in L1. That was for Wimbledon too so he can start by scoring next week.

You mean you didn't go to our league cup 1-3 defeat 2 years ago?  Shit fan.

Fuck I did go to that game. I remember nothing other than them having some beanpole in midfield who looked a level above.

Apparently Morgan Rogers scored too.

I reckon Sheehan could do the number 10 job at this level, whether his previous injuries prevent that, maybe the deeper lying role is a safer bet to keep him clear of injuries.

The purse has been shut, we are once more trading in frees and loans

Deadwood picking big wages up and sitting contracts out, best of a bad situation

Well I’m not sure the purse has been shut, this guy won’t be coming cheap if he’s on championship money but seeing as his contracts up at the end of the season a loans probably the best option financially at the moment.

Iles also reporting it almost certainly means the end of our pursuit of Kenny

I bloody hope so.

He could end up being a World Class player I suppose but nothing of him so far suggests that & Celtic have pulled our wire across the Summer.

Cyrus Christie rumours on twitter, 32 year old right back and free agent.

I’m not too unhappy about getting Forss instead of JK as they can do a similar job, but it all comes down to how SS sets up the team and uses him.

Time for one or two to leave, but not sure where they’d go or who would want them, but hopefully they can find regular football in a team where they’re appreciated.

He’s a great prospect and would have been a coup if we’d got him with a cheeky bid, but Celtic have used their wealth and stature to try to ensure they don’t get short changed. If he gets a career ending injury next week, they can afford to have lost their stake in him whereas the potential upside is tens of millions so for them it’s a decent punt. We move on.

Whatever happens Burstow is the first name on the teamsheet for me.

Everyone else will have to fall in line and build round him.

He's surviving on scraps, scored what he gets and works his absolute bollocks off.

Let's get to the crux pal. Grealish. What a transfer this is turning out to be for him.

Back in the England squad in no time at this rate.

Agree on Burstow BTW. Was great at Stockport and it's continued. Like the lad.

Another Burstow fan here. Works his bollocks off and is putting in the onion bag

Got a bit of everything, pace, power, graft. Intelligence to bring others into the game, confidence to try something different. and he can score, looks like he’s enjoying his football. It’s a joy to see.

He could easily get 20+ goals this season if the bloody wingers pass the  ball to him in the box it’s really winding me up !

Very much this. His conversion rate at the minute is excellent, imagine how good it would be if he was getting any sort of decent service!

I get what you are saying if Schon and CMG are still here after Monday and if he signs another winger we will have 8 players who can play as wingers .

Debatable :)

I like him, but he's not a target man and drops to deep at times. Get Dalby up front with Burstow playing off him, we will score a lot more.

Is that not him just searching for the ball though? Which to be fair he’s done a great job of holding the ball up and feeding back, but it’s that point where the move breaks down rather than progressing to the point of getting him on the shoulder of the last defender and getting the ball back to him

Absolutely agree with a Burstow-Dalby front two as long as we’re prepared to play to their strengths

All for this 2 up top especially at home, may leave us light in the middle away though.

actually sick of this no.10 talk, we’ve no one who can play it, so fuck the idea off. Dempsey really is the last hope for it, but he only plays 10-15 games a season if we’re lucky.

4, 4 fucking 2

2 lumps at the back, 2 lumps in the middle, 2 lumps (with brains) up top will get us climbing the league.

A nice touch yesterday was the scotch bloke on commentary saying it was fantastic to see mason burstows mum and dad jumping up and down with the fans when he scored.

That said, although Forss is thought of as a winger, he does play inside a lot, link play, can see a pass and can score himself so maybe SS is earmarking him for that 10 or second striker role?

Fair enough, you know more on him than me.

Someone been playing with Cyrus Christie wiki.

Not much - maybe 10 games in his entire career and he was fairly anonymous in several of them. Only speculating SS may use him for that, but I think he has the attributes to do it from what little I’ve seen. I’d have preferred Kenny in that role because he’s more physical but it’s not a role he’s played much either, still, reckon it’s worth a shot putting Forss just behind the striker(s)

TBH I should give up trying to guess what SS might do to bring the goals - he sees them in training and has maybe already tried and discounted the things I would try.
