Had a really weird World Cup. Looked a superstar early doors, and led the line like a hero against Colombia. Since then though he’s looked a shadow of himself.

If he wasn't English and had his record I think he'd be prime Real Madrid fodder in everyone's eyes.

I think we tend to think English based players (English lads especially) aren't as good as they are due to us seeing them week in and week out even when they're a bit poop.

Do able, he might even be able to have 2 or 3 seasons abroad if he stays injury free

Beckham, lampard, gerrard, Ferdinand, Owen at his peak, Cole, terry, scholes, Rooney were all world class imo.

 

Won countless trophy’s, champions leagues, ballon d’or winner and runners up in amongst them. Played for best teams at their peak in Europe and were all big game players.

...and that was at a time when the premier league was at its absolute peak and head and shoulders above any league in Europe.

According to BEN Parky says he needs 7 more players and Wyke is still of interest but Sunderland had a six figure bid turned down by Bradford recently. Also Myhill linked to us as second goalkeeper hes a free agent.
