A good experienced keeps is absolutely vital in this League. Must be good at organising his defence at dead ball situations. And strong physically.

Very big gamble if he is to be our number 1

Not for me this one, we're taking a risk on an unproven keeper to benefit another club rather than take the same risk on a player of our own.

Conventional wisdom maybe. Think this is like those who said to Evatt 'you can't get out of the National League by playing football'

Evatt is going to do it his way and if that means getting a keeper who he knows will play out from the back and fit in with his style then so be it. Hell of a gamble though with such a young lad if he is first choice. hope it works 

 

Dean Henderson had no experience and went on loan to Shrewsbury when he was 19, got promoted. 

Then went on loan to Sheff United and got promoted. 

They have to start somewhere. 

He talks like he's been told its with a view to playing first team

Some height is certainly welcomed. That said there were times over the last few seasons when teams with smaller players (certainly in midfield) would out battle and run us.

Can't see Evatt accepting anything like that this time, no matter what size they are.
