ULEZ has cost

It's a Tory policy.

Bit Trumpian of the Tories to blame Labour for it.

Still, the silly fuckers in Uxbridge fell for it.

Won't work on us clever northerners though 😀

Party politics aside it is going to be interesting to see how green policies develop in the future. Everyone says they want to consider the environment but as can be seen it is not necessarily a vote winner.

I accept ULEZ has its issues by the way and whether it is a fair tax etc but it does go to show how economics trumps everything.

You too - yes youngest had her final day at primary school yesterday so that's it, no more christmas plays or summer fates!

And yes quite a bit - finally off on Friday for a week away, going to see the in-laws in Durham and staying in a nice cottage near Chester-Le-Street, then down to Bolton for a week with the family. So whilst not off away to warmer cilmbs looking forward to catching up with everyone.

My lads last day today. Went to his leavers service this morning. Fucking hell. Not a dry eye in the house. 😥

Yes was a bit surreal having put three kids through the school - will miss the little place, its a lovely drive through the kent countryside.

Maybe Farage can open an account in gay Paris 😊

That Tory who won Uxbridge sounds like he didn't even want to win. "I only won because Grant Shapps ordered Sadiq Khan to extend Boris Johnson's ULEZ scheme FFS."

Odd though as if they really want to send a message, they can only do it when we elect our next mayor. Its also happening, its not going to stop

Kind of a Tory policy, but heavily resisted, as it is and will be up here. I wouldn’t be surprised if net zero was reined in.

So a bit disengenous of the Tories to try to blame Sadiq Khan for it don't you think?

Very disingenuous. But not at all surprising.

Anytime Khan is mentioned, I can't help but think of the first post on this thread 🙂

If I recall correctly, it was only a matter of time until Khan was ousted due to skeletons in the closet. I think he even had a monetary bet with somebody on here that no way would Khan win another election as Mayor

I'm no massive fan of Khan, but he does seem to come in for a lot of shit, that's not always, as far as I can tell, his fault (ULEZ being a perfect example)

You won’t tempt diver into blaming a Tory for anything

Whilst we’re back on the topic of net zero.

Where did you read your Wind Turbines Cause Deforestation article? You went a bit quiet after it was shown to be nonsense. Curious where it came from …

Yes it isn't his policy but those who already hate him are using it as a stick to beat him with.

It does seem to come from blokes in their 50s upwards. There's one bloke whose taken over our local community facebook page (normally things like I'm a cleaner looking for work, school car boot sales, save the local train ticket office - that sort of thing) justing ranting like Miami about Khan all the time. Most odd.

Khan is pro ULEZ though

Granted I hear most about it from wheezer ferrari, complete with his spin, but Khans definitely not anti ULEZ

Didn't say he was, but it is just something he has had to inact though which is sort of the point that it's not just one man's ideological crusade.

Yes, the bet was with me. £100 I recall. When he lost the bet he asked for double or quits… I politely declined and asked him to pay the money to the Wways for site running costs. I have no idea if he ever did.

Miami used to message me privately on a Friday night to join the politics thread whenever there was a negative SNP news story. No idea why he thought I cared about the SNP. I hope he's doing better things with his Friday nights now, wherever he is. He's a nice guy at heart, despite his loony beliefs. ❤️

He's certainly been the driving force behind the expansion of it

Back then I had some invites from Miami asking to meet up for a straightener.  Admittedly I had probably bated him in some threads but didn’t realise he was so wired. I don’t think social media is healthy for some folk.

@miamiwhitehes a loon :(

but he would do anything to help you out

Wont hear a bad word about him as a bloke

Hes also doing loads of good stuff at no cost in his own time

Yes I know and fair play to him. It didn’t bring the best out of him on here.

Decent little report then by the News at 10 highlighting that these barges are nothing like the prisons some drama queens are suggesting,
