Starmer has simultaneously managed to upset the people who voted for him. The Labour backbenchers, our closest ally, the enemy of our closest ally and now, the one that will probably be his biggest mistake, the Civil Service.
Some going that. Take a bow son.👍

The big problem is who replaces him!

Don’t go Sir Keir!

I'd not be concerned about upsetting "our closest ally", given what the alternative was, I would at least applaud him for that

do you still think we should have gone into war alongside the US and Israel, just to keep Trump happy?

The hypocrisy is staggering but that’s politics. People still fall for it though. As I alluded to, the civil service will be his downfall. You can fool the electorate but not the ‘mandarins’

Just saw an interview with Danny Kruger earlier. This following on from one with former ministers.

The latter was about the control the civil service had over them.

The former was about how Reform proposed to deal with it.

Some interesting thoughts about bringing in more private sector people rather can career folk who have no experience of it.

Also plans to incentivise it, with performance related pay, but weaken the pension offer.

Essentially going to war with the status quo.

He accepted it will be difficult, and said there will be significant pushback.

Time will tell.

Sounds like a descent into dictatorship. Why would anyone want that?

Reform voters like TMGJ relish the idea of living under an English Viktor Orbán.

Tice is in hot water for the third time over his tax affairs. I wonder if it will be raised in the media or on here as much as Raynor was?

Unlikely

Where did you learn about this? In the media perchance?

They've been quite up front over Tice's tax situation.

Whether folk think it's right that using avoidance schemes is allowed, is for each person to decide.

Starmer was clear with his use of a scheme too, and it was all done with in no time.

Presumably there will be the same level of ire towards him as with anyone else.

Of course, if anyone is found being naughty and evading tax is another matter.

Did Angela Raynor contact you directly about her tax, or did you read the story in the media? Perchance, like.

Not really, have you heard about it all over the BBC, Sky News or ITV?

Yeah its been wall to wall coverage. Not.

I normally get my news updates from BBC and Sky News. Both have reported on the Tice tax avoidance allegations in some detail this week, and earlier. I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make.
Incidentally, I’m no supporter of Reform.

They have given it very minor coverage, not in some detail at all in my opinion.

Raynor was on the headline news of BBC, ITV and Sky etc.

It is not comparable in coverage.

Deputy Prime Minister versus number two on the gun in the Reform Party. I would expect Rayner to get more coverage. I think your political views may be distorting your perception.
