Worked well so far........ You just don’t get it do you? Scotland wants to control its own finances, laws, trading agreements and has a sovereign right to do so free from the shackles of the corrupt Westminster regime. Quote

When you say “Scotland wants to”, do you have data to support? Quote

The last fifteen polls have shown a majority in Scotland would like independence, and the last majority shows growth in this view (58 for/42 against). Quote
Spider Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 We've just spent 5 years at war with each other, devalued the £ by 20%, savaged our economy, quit the world's largest free trade zone, created a mountain of red tape & flushed £200bn down the drain to 'control our borders'. 6 EU states just did it in 24 hours with a press release Quote

Spider Posted December 21, 2020 Posted December 21, 2020 On the bright side, Brexit has come early. The 52% should be dancing in the streets now we are separated properly from those greasy Europeans. Leave the panic buying to the scaredy cat remainers Quote

Won't catch me paying £1.50 a litre in 2022. Quote

Joking apart, don't you wish you lived in the world of the simpletons who think it's really easy to just forward order, months in advance, specialist parts/products and store them on your shelf - especially when the pricing can be very, very volatile at the best of times 😀 Quote

Mounts thinks you can just forward order complex steel products and the metal exchanges, production limits, transport, landed costs, exchange rates and market volatility are just something that exist on page 34 of the Times. I know fuck all about roofing, so would never challenge Miami on how that business operates. I would lose an argument against him, and I wouldn't want to spoil my flawless record. As I say, if it's that simple, try ordering 5 years worth of fuel up front. Go on. Quote

Everyone had a pop at me (us) for not forward ordering - this is one of the situations that arise when demand is likely to peak because of a huge change in circumstances. Profiteering. Raw materials have indeed gone up - we increase our prices on 1/1/21 by 7% as a result. The other 13% is a very grey area. Quote

Good day to you and Merry Christmas x I don't remember, so it didn't happen. Well done on your forward ordering, I hope your suppliers are agreeable and have given you good payment terms. One of the issues we have in the metal market is that a £16million "forward order" would have different implications, which I have discussed at length. Quote
