Woman can't help coming down with the lurgi. If she'd postponed she'd have been slagged off for bottling it.

She may not be the best orator, but for me, at this time (brexit) I want a steadfast politician at the healm. We've had slick harry types, who in fairness were good at issuing rallying calls, but now need some substance.

Guess we'll see how good she's been in a few years.

As you know, I'm no fan of Corbyn

But that today was a car crash, no two ways about it, TM is out of her depth and has been from day 1

British politics really is in a bad place when these two Muppets are competing to run the country

Edit... TMGJ - Can you honestly say that TM has shown any substance whatsoever? We have got barely anywhere with BREXIT, the only thing she has had to do in her first year as PM is run an election campaign and that was also a car crash, substance my arse!

Maybe 26 tv and radio interviews the previous day was at least 20 too many?

The interloper was secutiy's problem - in a big way.

The classic letters falling of the board was not as Traf portrays, but it did leave onlookers wondering what would fall next.

The delivery was awful almost beyond words, but the content was fine by me.

How long did the 26 interviews last?

Like I said, I'll wait and see. No one has ever undertaken such an exercise before, so its easy to criticise. I didn't expect negotiations to be easy, nor did I have any idea of what would be agreed by when.

We'll see how much substance there is in the coming months when brexit is done.

I'd be genuinely interested to know what you and others thought would have been achieved up to now with regard to negotiations. Moreover, we don't really know what's happened up to now, nor did I expect too much to be revealed as the discussions proceed.

Much jostling for position was to be expected, and I didn't expect it all to take a couple of weeks. That being said, ultimately its the negotiators who have the ability to make things as easy or as difficult as they want.

I personally thought it would be a huge mess and take the best part of a decade to work through, you can look back on the original BREXIT thread to confirm that

Many leave voters said 'it should only take a couple of weeks', whilst another said it would be 'easy peasy lemon squeezy'

I'd not have expected TM to have BREXIT done and dusted by now however she should have got her party aligned behind one stance and won a clear majority at the general election - That would have been substance for her first year

The negotiations have hardly started yet because we don't yet know the makeup of the new German government. Commentators seem to believe that since Merkel's parties won the most seats she will lead again. But when she first became Chancellor she finished second in the election but became the catalyst for a successful grand coalition. To her personal credit she had reiterated her view that Germany should continue with large scale immigration. It may well be that one or both of the other potential coalition partners insists on ABM (anyone but Merkel).

My view is we should continue on to the actual leaving date and then say that everything must be concluded in principle by the third anniversary of the referendum, 14 weeks later.

Incidentally the EU has decided that the deal Amazon did with Luxembourg was unfair and that it should now pay a lot more tax to Lux than previously agreed. So Luxembourg wins extra money for a dodgy deal done when Juncker was PM of Lux - you couldn't make it up!

I feel a bit sorry for her if I'm honest. I'm a weird kind of British way - this might actually bolster a bit of support for the poor old dear.

The Tory media didn't feel sorry for Kinnock when him and his wife fell into the sea. Just so glad it went tits up today. :D

Both parties are an embarrassment. I've learnt not a lot changes so I'm not too worried I'll just look after myself and my family but it will be a long time before I vote for either shite party again

She has been and continues to be fucking feckless but she's not alone in that. I wouldn't put much importance in one of these speeches really.

Anyway, who finds these 'pranksters' even remotely amusing?

About as funny as Sarah Millican.

And on the same thread I questioned the ability of our politicians to negotiate a quick and beneficial deal. But people were convinced it would easy and everything would be great.

Theresa May was like coughing Bob Fleming today, excellent entertainment.

There is a reason why the official process takes two years.

Chest inflating and thumping first, then actual deals will follow.

If the powers that be fuck it up (on both sides) then their careers will only go one way. It will get sorted.

How long did the 26 interviews last?

26 interviews in the day.

Each one lasted 3 hours.

Lots of love

Just finished work and watch it.

Even a satirist would reject what happened as far fetched. Brilliantly summed up her whole leadership, and why on earth did she think wearing a Frida Kahlo bracelet would be a good idea to top that shambles off.

Even forgetting the letters falling off, the P45, the coughing, Boris being encouraged to stand, what’s this British dream nonsense?

All in all, very, very funny.

The P45, the coughing and the bracelet is just noise, a minor side-story for a day or so and taking the spotlight off the real shambles of that Boris Johnson speech.

wouldve been entertaining if that 'comedian' had had his brains splattered over the stage

I think he should try something at Putin's next speech.

Might die a slow death with all the mucus being showered over him.

Really?

No fooling you, is there?

Haha.

If he'd done that to trump....

That's better.

Bar some miraculous turnaround or earth shattering world event, I can only see a hung parliament at the next election. Probably with nobody easily able to govern.

Lovely.

Lovely.

That has been more likely than not since the SNP became a force in the Commons.

Unless Corbyn and the SNP do a deal, which isn't that far fetched

A GE is a long way off so anything can happen I suppose, 5 months back Corbyn was dead and buried whilst TM looked like she would walk an election
