I don't mean "but what about the poor kids and their private education" I meant as in, they've looked at numbers and (for arguments sake), said right there's 1 million kids in private education so let's add VAT to their fees and the parents of 750k kids can't afford the increase so pull them out and stick them in state schools you've got more kids in state schools, and less money being put into the state schools which are already struggling I'm sure the impact wouldn't be so great, but there's still potential for this to have an adverse impact on their plans Quote

It applies to everyone. I suspect they will find the money, if it means young Ichabod not having to have his tuck money beaten out of him by a grubby pauper from the estate. Quote

I was told that my business merely needed to adjust to the loss of export customers after Brexit, and that I ought to have been prepared. Winners and losers. I was told. So I’m merely applying that cast iron logic to a potential policy that is aimed squarely at an area that I would expect is largely populated by dyed in the wool Tories (not 100%, but I reckon more than 52%). The schools would simply have to adjust their business model to cope with the new circumstances. And given that these institutions are the Best of British, I would definitely be dismayed if they were to start going all snowflakey and entitled. winners and losers. Edited September 27, 2023 by Spider Quote
