it's the same in Bolton, it's not like it used to be, that's for sure

but I reckon I could go and have a lovely few days with the kids in London (or any big city in the west) if I wanted, with zero concern for my safety or feeling like i was being marginalised

that's her issue, not theirs

Doesn't she also say something like there were gangs of foreign men stood around all shouting at her or something?

I'm calling bollocks on that one. As a middle aged man @royal white 😁

I wish it was still like this.

I guess that’s the difference, nipping out for the day to see a few lions is different than living and working there. Same as Bolton. A wanderers fan was saying on FB last week how he has been back to the town centre for the first time in 4 years and it was looking a lot better. You ask the majority who are in there on a  daily/weekly basis and they will tell you different.

aye

I used to work in Manc City centre and would walk through picadilly gardens and market street and across other parts of town on a daily basis

I've been watching some of those Charlie Veitch videos recently

the things he sees and comments on, they aren't new to Piccadily Gardens and Market Street, it's always been dodgy as long as i've lived in Manchester, which is a good 25 years, and it's not a race issue either, there's dodgy fuckers all of all races and colours aroundthere

I think I'm allowed to say that

I think he crossed that line when he got elected to be honest. The vitriol surrounding him is laughable.

Each to their own, but I think it's fully deserved.

Like all governments they do some good things and some bad.

However some of the messaging and insults have been terrible- especially when u turns are made later.

For a former lawyer, who I've always though was measured in parliament, to go with these comments shows a weakness that will be exploited- and by his own party as much as anyone else.

Rumours abound already that Rayner is already on manoeuvres.

That car crash interview by the minister the other day, together with a couple of others having issues, doesn't help his cause.

He's not daft though, and this decision will garner some support, and the timing could give him a boost come the next election if the findings allow a clear out at various levels.

The potential for a lot of political shenanigans in the interim.

Not good

Fair enough - we all see things differently. And he certainly seems to rub people up the wrong way for some reason. I still can't see why mind. He's about as grey and uncontroversial a Prime Minister we've had since John Major 😁

I can understand people being unhappy about some policy decisions (that's politics) - I just can't for the life of me figure out where all the absolute rage is coming from?

It’s depressing enough as it is with rising homelessness, drug use & abandoned shops. Can’t imagine what’s it’s like feeling depressed by the lack of English about as well. Each to their own

The lies. The spin and the bullshit.

Telling victims, their families etc who want justice they're far right.

The very thing he and his party said would be cleaned up.

His ministers being caught out- just like the last lot- and resigning.

Politics does rely on reacting to the situation, and isn't east to please everyone, least of all within your own party, but dissing and dismissing concerns of the public is a huge no-no and he should know better.

All hurtful I'm sure if you're on the recieving end. But pretty small fry in the grand scheme of things.

I'm not sure he's ever told victims or families that they're far right has he? Unless I've missed something. I'm sure there's been some spin - but I can't think of any outright lies he's told either?

Social Media just exaggerates everything.

Take the MPs who ‘voted against the inquiry’ it is such bollocks.

He is getting slagged for picking up papers The Don dropped FFS. He is very grey however and will never be a charismatic leader.

Lived in London for over 10 years, still travel there 3/4 times a week for work and would like to.move back one day. Personally, can't say I've ever been mugged, had anything stolen, never been threatened or had any violent episode whatsoever.

I did get my wallet back after I dropped it in a shop in Tottenham.

I've seen the lions as well.

Pretty much every part of MSM reported it that way

Headlines, bit like U turns.

The quality of media reporting is pretty wank which plays into the hands of those with an agenda. (Either way)

To be fair though - you do look extremely intimidating

The difference is - it's omnipresent now. There's barely a thread on Facebook without some gonad trying to bring Keir Starmer into it.

Yeah, that is very true.

Actually our local when we lived in Tottenham was a proper gangster hang out and the local restaurant was just a front - had about 100 covers and only we seemed to eat there 😁

Surpisingly, seemed they didn't consider me a threat the local drug operations.

Anyway at least all this grooming gang nonsense can raise a giggle amongst some of our elite.

Or listening to Kemis response

Just talking to my Kurdish barbershop owner bloke in town.

He had an Albanian lad through the books who's just left to start as Mrs just had a baby. Life on the sausage roll awaits for him and his Mrs.

The shop owner has had 4 different 'barbers' come in looking for work but with no documentation. My man won't take them on as it's a £30k fine if he's caught letting them work with no papers.

They all came from the recent influx currently housed in a hotel on the seafront, I forget its name.

On one hand I'd say surely they should be given some form of temporary papers so they can do a bit of work and put something back in.

But on the other they should face the same measures as everybody else and if they work they should have their benefits cut.

I'm not sure many of them would want to he fishing for work if their allowances were cut for doing so...

It's a tricky one.
