The "electable" element of the EU is a fig leaf. It is the Commission that has all the power. How is it you don't understand that. The EU parliament doesn't even have the power to propose laws. It has never removed a commission even though there has been plenty of reason to do so. Please start to read more about the EU and be more sceptical. It is not a pretty picture.
