I’ll say it here the football lads fighting with the police are just as bad as the BLM lot fighting the police. Utter shithouses.

In one.

I’m sure that some people went to last week’s marches hoping for trouble. But there were plenty of people there who wanted peaceful protest. Not much peaceful protesting going on today. Seemed like the vast majority of today’s visitors to London were there purely for a ruck.

I can see why they’re doing it absolutely I can. I share the same frustrations with the policing of last week and the policing this week which displays inequality to me.

Do you police Bolton v Yeovil in the same way as you police Bolton v Wigan?

If it kicks off at an “uncontested” rally when perhaps the police weren’t expecting it to (and loads of police were injured as a result) would you suggest the same or different police resourcing at a “contested” rally a week later when you are expecting it to kick off?

You’re comparing two different situations. And then politicising it.

Edit: in my opinion

Widders the guy is in London apparently to stop the other lot insulting the memories of our past who defaced statues.
The fact he decided in the whole of London to take a piss here is fucking stupid.
Anyone who slagged off the lefties last week must be annoyed by this.
( I am assuming the lad is with the FLA lot as Gratch posted ‘dickheads on both sides’ else where).

Indeed.

Widders- I agree with your comments above, but this guy's actions greatly diminish the message. Dunno if he was pissed, and to be honest, football fans doing similar isn't pleasant neither.

But right next to Keith Palmer's memorial, FFS. Expect Kahnage now.

Quite. I'm sure there were plenty of rent-a-mob types last week that turn up to any demo just to spray shit and get on Facebook. But plenty more have been protesting peacefully (including in London yesterday and in Hyde Park today) for what imo is a fair cause. Yes they should be social distancing, but that ship sailed a long time ago.

This lot... I have no idea what the cause is. If it was protecting statues they'd have called it off when BLM called off their protest. If it was frustration at the treatment of the police last weekend and in Hackney, why attack the police?

For the most part I think it was just an excuse to get pissed and kick off. If England were playing in the Euros this weekend after a two month lockdown, I'm sure you'd see much of the same.

The police stood back and allowed people to vandalize various properties and statues last week and during this week. In this modern world of cctv there was no way they didn’t see these people either heading there or doing it. Yet did nothing.

if they hadn’t of done that today wouldn’t have happened on that scale. You must see that?

Today 12 lads met up all coming from their homes to head into the city. Within 5 minutes of them all meeting they were intercepted by a police unit and stopped. Details taken. Advised to stay away from the city etc etc. 5 minutes. Yet last week was allowed to happen.  we’re these lads going to cause trouble? Yep they were. I know two of them and they were hellbent on getting involved today. But you can see my issue and point about inequality here. And differing rules.

and I agree With you police the event. But and this a big but, I knew what was going to happen last week as did you I suspect. Same as we all knew what was going to happen today. So why wasn’t it policed properly notwithstanding it should never have been allowed nor this week but they’ve made their bed and now they are lying in it

So not only did they not police last week properly they also stood aside and allowed unlawful acts to occur. Which has incited people.

I bet there is some logic there if you look hard enough!

Can only go off the videos, but it wasn't exactly like the Madrid police were out in London today.

Miami said last week that the Right were being sensible staying in the background.  He was spot on. Some of the images and videos from today look terrible.

Unfortunately completely correct whether folk like it or not.

Going way back I think that it was bolty who once preached Newton’s Third Law and here we have the proof

Today was a fusion between black gang wars and An England game away Somewhere edgy.

some of the shit that’s gone on today is insane. But it’s no surprise.

biggest quandary here is how the hell this gets stopped now before we end up with a fucking full blown race war. Tit for tat

What has gone on with Wrexham lads turning up and kicking off in Manchester today...a few posts on twitter.

I think there's probably a difference in that at the protest in Bristol there was no particular threat of violence to people, just repairable property. It seems clear to me that the "protest" today was geared significantly more towards inciting a physical confrontation.

That likely explains the contrast in policing approach.

So one is breaking the law the other is, well, breaking the law. That’s how I see it sorry.
and last week if no physical violence what was preoccupying their time so much that they couldn’t uphold the law? This is where I struggle. They are there to uphold the law. It’s what they are supposed to do. They failed miserably.

And presumably by the same token anyone who is breaking the law should be given the same punishment? Stole a loaf of bread when your family were starving... 2 years in jail. Murdered someone in cold blood... 2 years jail time.

Everyone knows you’re trying to play the role of the talksport presenter on here. Forever winding people up for the sake of it. But sadly for you, you’re not that good at it. And you’re never going to get paid like Adrian Durham.

Now really isn’t the time for people to be divided. We need people to come together.

Cos that’s what I said. Must. Try. To. Learn. To. Read,

And here is another one offering an opinion that is both flawed and presumptuous.

bore off. Thanks

Also just looked up who Adrian Durham actually is.
so I want to be like someone who I don’t know who they are? Wow  that’s a new one on me

furthermore being a radio presenter would be my idea of hell as a career

i see the logic Is continuous with yourself. Well done you

Spot on👍

Alor of folk “not wound up by me” who “don’t care what I say” who appear to get wound up by what I say. Whilst I’m not trying to wind folk up, I have to admit it is actually giving me a warm feeling (no I haven’t wet myself).

the strangest thing really. I suggest you put me in ignore or get some help/assistance. Much love 💕

Indeed

And shouldn't need spelling out

You both conveniently forgot the “peaceful” BLM protest in London. Football lads stood on monuments right across the UK and only a handful caused any trouble, let’s be even handed when making comparisons.
