Tenerife have been in the UEFA Cup twice, 1993-94 and 1996-97.

They did not meet any English club, but on the first occasion disposed of Auxerre and Olympiakos before losing to Juventus.

Last time they eliminated Maccabi Tel-Aviv, Lazio, Feyenoord and Brondby before losing to Schalke. Even when eliminated they did win their home legs against both Juventus and Schalke.

(But they play in Santa Cruz.)

Pretty much lived there as a kid, Emerson joined them from boro and was a local hero. 

Had a few of their shirts, badge had a Scotland flag on it for reasons I’m not sure of. 

 

Cambodia/Vietnam & Thai in March with the lad.

Family hol in school holidays - maybe Disney.

Canaries in October with my partner.

Superb hotel pal. Although few years back when I stayed here. Beach is superb, expansive and quiet and not too far from albufeira or Olhos de agua.
