Agree with you but the word police is in essence down to the police to ensure. Give them the powers to do it but I don’t know why they’re not doing it currently as I believe they have the necessary powers to enforce already.  they just choose not to it would appear . Too busy “allegedly”

Probably not enough of them either

I'm talking about the rule in Germany, not the UK. Some of my team have to have a Covid test either within 48 Hours of coming back to work here, or within 72 Hours of arriving here. During the time they are waiting for a test result they have to isolate. as soon as they get confirmation of a negative test they can come back to work.

Ah with you; sorry I thought you meant the other way around

Agreed given the way society appears to be heading in terms of respect for the law we will need either more officers or tougher sanctions. But if more officers do the same “enforcing” as the current numbers it’s probably futile. It’s not suddenly going to make them stop and break up gangs or youths huddled together when currently they watch and drive on by without doing fuck all. Not sure it’s a numbers issue

Think they have some exceptions to the 14 day quarantine rule, not sure what they are, assume they are work related (imagine an Italian engineer coming over to fix a machine in a food production facility etc)

Also Man City didn’t have to quarantine for 14 days when they came back from Lisbon

A friend of mine runs a physio outpatients in an NHS London trust. She had to send a proportion of staff to the nightingale hospital even though there were no patients in it. She was livid as it left her with fewer staff in her busy normal wards.

You see, that makes no sense at all. If the Nightingales purpose was for treating Covid patients you would need ICU qualified staff. The training this isn't something that can be done overnight, so to use qualified people means taking them from Hospitals.

I thought that was why it was muted to use the Army to cover certain jobs that the Police had responsibility for in order to free up the Police to enforce the Covid laws, or was that just more bluster ?

Pretty sure footballers have a different set of regulations to adhere to. Part of conditions of play- frequent testing etc.

Yeh, but look at how many are testing positive. A couple of Celtic players at least in the last few days as an example tested positive after travelling for International duty. Internationals going ahead at this time is absolute bollocks.

Indeed, bound to happen as more cases occur generally. Footballers still have families etc and aren't free from contact with non football folk.

Presumably their conditions are more stringent than the general public in order for the games to take place.

I’ve just been in the supermarket and 4 kids probably around 12ish not wearing masks as Is their right.  Stood in queue right up behind a woman and her young child both wearing masks. She politely asked the kids to stand away and stay at a distance. One told her to “fuck off I will do what I want” the rest laughed and didn’t move.

Whilst  being mindful they are young kids but also mindful they’ve just told a polite woman to fuck off  I had a word and asked them not so politely to move away from the woman. What sort of values do parents instill in their kids to have them behave like that. I was a twat when I was a kid but I always had manners and respect for grown ups otherwise I got leathered if my dad found out.

Elite athletes are on the list of those exempt from quarantine

😂 not quite and it doesn’t sound so menacing in a north west accent anyhow

Miami white mentioned the other day about Antibody tests and the LSE,

They are now available to order on the gov.uk website, for NHS and care staff, and education staff.

edit: Antibody, not antivirus d'oh

Anyone arriving from anywhere classed as "unsafe" can get a test immediately for free at the Airport or a Doctors or Health clinic, plus some other places like major Border crossings. Anyone else who lives or works here can get a test for free even without Symptoms, as the Government and RKI are actually trying to find people who have "had" Covid who didn't realize they had it. It doesn't take any longer than a day, usually maximum 12 hours to get the result. We have a situation where some guys who live in Berlin but work in Leipzig on the 4 on/4 off shift have to have a test now every time they come back to work as berlin is classed as a high risk area at the moment, so they get tested the day before they come back and provide the Certificate. It's not exactly a good thing because if they picked it up the day before they come back it wouldn't show on that test, but, in work each crew is split now in to bubbles of people (4 or 5 five max) that never interact with the other bubbles, so different start/finish times, different break times, not working on the same Aircraft or area of the Aircraft on the larger ones etc. Masks are worn everywhere in work now if you are any closer than 1.5 meter from another person, so pretty much everywhere. All work spaces in the offices are distanced and screens set up where desks face each other even with the distancing. They just try to make it work as best as possible. Most of the Admin people are home office and most Ops meetings are done with Skype/Zoom. We had a meeting last week where the Customer rocked up with six people, so we told them to go back to their office and do it via Skype. Even here there are some Muppets who don't want  to do it right.

yOu are supposed to fill this in before traveling to the UK

Fucking shutting the gym? Cleanest place I've been in since lockdown finished is the gym, mental.

Something id lije to know

How did GManchesters figuresearly august when we went in special measures, co pare with current figures down south?

My perception is they think they can do whatever the fuck they like with us nothern plebs

Might be wrong, so do we have figures?

Also, we are told that meeting in the home is very high risk....so whats the justification for a blanket closing of bars and pubs....if will just push social gatherings into homes

Absolutely ridiculous if they close the gyms :(

Makes no sense whatsoever. They base their decisions on stats and figures supposedly, yet the number of cases linked to gyms is minuscule. They can pay lip service all they want to keeping the country fit and healthy, but keeping fast food places open while shutting gyms? Fuck. Off.

At least wee Jimmy has had the sense to leave them open (for now)

The gyms should sell ale.
