We're not being told anything that isn't already in he public domain. Imperial College London reckoned 250,000 deaths approx with the government's old strategy. 20,000 with the new social distancing. 

But it does leave the problem of what happens when everyone begins to circulate again.

Carpet shops will need financially supporting with all the samples and off cuts being taken

Most of the stuff that’s been ransacked has decent shelf life 

Then you have additional consumption of everything over the coming months as folk are at home constantly when they would usually be out quite a bit (work, leisure, holidays etc) 

Should be a good year for the Grocery industry

The Chief Scientific Advisor is quoted today as saying "if we can get this down to numbers, 20,000 deaths and below, that's a good outcome".

I thought he'd been misquoted at first, but he did say it.

I wonder if we’re going to empty our prisons like Iran, 85,000 released.  It could very well happen here I reckon depending on the strain and how much the virus is in our prisons.   I bet there’s plenty of Solicitors of the Ambulance chasing kind just waiting for this to die off and start the ‘Was You affected by the Corona Virus whilst under Her Majesty’s pleasure’?

I read this and although I imagine that Iranian prisons are far more spartan surely being in a isolated controlled environment is better than being in society and coming into contact with far more people.

I heard a prediction of 8,000 deaths predicted before June. 80k overall.

It depends whose predictions you are quoting and what model they are using but the increase will be exponential and we are only at the start of this.
