Guess we'll see in a few weeks as it takes some time. Also claims that more younger people are getting it at the moment. 

Opening schools may still require some employers to be flexible with staff, as many won't want grandparents collecting kids before they get home. That was part of the reason for shielding/closing schools in the first place.

I'll say it again, just so it's crystal clear..

Teachers are NOT TO WEAR MASKS, following government guidance. Kids are also not to wear masks. 

It's not safe for me to go to my mums for a brew in her garden, but it's safe for me to be shut in a room with 30 teenagers, with the government telling me I am not allowed to wear a mask.  Makes perfect sense. 

I'll do what i'm told and go back to work in September, doesn't mean I'm happy about it. I'm ina  better place than many

Its exactly the same as the justification for allowing folk to meet in pubs not back gardens

Lots of friendly football matches getting arranged after the initial relaxation from Aug 1st.  Local fa guidance ( last I saw) after the tightening up last week was to continue with guidance issued in relation to starting back safely 
cant see how that’s ok but sitting in a relations garden isn’t ? 
I’m glad it is on like but can’t see the logic

Last Sunday lads u12 had a friendly players/ coaches and parents so around 50/60 altogether, mini tournament coming up so be a fair few at that

But they need it otherwise they go under

Aye, my kids having them as well apart from one last week when the other team cancelled simply because we were from Bolton after the announcement on Greater Manchester ... Loads more planned but same kids / teens can’t go and sit in their cousins garden , that’s the bit I don’t get even though I’m glad football is allowed back .

As an example of the potential housing issue, during the lockdown my daughters partner, who is a self employed plasterer was unable to work, the daughter had become redundant while on maternity leave as the company she worked for had become insolvent (mid 2019 so pre- corona). They had no income whatsoever so were told to claim universal credit, this amounted to just over £400 a month, their mortgage alone is almost £800 a month, they pointed this out and were informed that they wouldn't be able to claim any sort of housing allowance for six months. Luckily they had some savings and we were able to help them out to keep them afloat.

Daughter has now got a part time job and they are both working again but are reliant on family to look after the little one for the three days a week that both are in work. Strictly speaking the only person who should be able to mind the kiddy would be somebody who is a single person who has 'bubbled' with them, nobody fits that description. If one of them gives up work to stay at home with him they wouldn't have anywhere near enough coming in to pay the bills. 

Multiply this by hundreds of thousands if not millions of families across the land.

Bollocks to it. Yes it muffles the sound somewhat, but if the kids are quiet, they should still understand.

Flip it on it's head and leave the teachers as they are and make all the kids wear a mask, might help em to listen rather than talking shite to each other.

Don't know if its been mentioned but reading the new york times article on schools reopening in Israel is a great way to ruin your day. Pretty concerned about September now.

I'll be massively surprised if we don't have a similar experience in some schools,  especially when it gets colder and folk start shutting the windows. I'm sure the govmt have thought it through, but If I was opening schools up I'd do it in a phased manner. There will still be kids with furloughed parents in Sept, parents working from home, some unemployed, unfortunately. I'd be tentative and reduce the numbers in school at any one time to start with, see how it goes. I'd prefer that to schools shutting down completely because of an outbreak. I'll be surprised if the first term back isn't disrupted in some way.

Tell you what,

the opinion of some teachers is shocking. Someone's just put on a closed group that masks are a bit pointless anyway as they're not fitted etc and worn incorrectly, 

absolute torrent of abuse from teachers who clearly are looking for excuses to get out of work. It's a bit embarrassing really.

Every industry has to adapt and overcome they’re no different and have had more time than most.
