The opinion of teachers is shocking on here generally, yet folk are more than happy to hand over there horribly behaved little shits for babysitting, sorry, education. Not surprised kids were little shits if you were their teacher 😂. Schools don’t open, economy fails. Masks, distancing, sanitisers. Agree entirely. Lad is pretty much used to wearing one now- just been and eaten in a cafe, and he didn't want to take it off, and wanted to take away- and kids would soon get used to it. Quote

Kids don't go to school, parents can't go to work, economy fails, teachers still want to be paid. In all honesty though it appears to be more the union's than the teachers themselves who are against returning to work. Edited August 5, 2020 by tkonion Incomplete post. Quote

Like I've said before there is 24 hours in a day, companies need to step up and start to do split shifts to help out there workers that have school children, and yes I do understand that not all places can do this but I would guess that a lot could if they wanted. I agree but the problem is a lot of people seem to be against any return to school at all, presumably until the virus has gone entirely and they deem it completely safe to do so. Quote
Casino Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Schools could also extend their days if space is an issue 14-18 could do 2 til 8 Quote

Either that or they have to do less time in school and some still online. Quote
bolton_blondie Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Home test has arrived this afternoon. Not one single symptom but all of the community staff are to be tested. Can't help to think they are a bit late with this Quote

They had maxed out of the number of kits available apparently, but the new machines are faster, can do more tests (and test for different viruses simultaneously), and are more accurate. Going to go into work places supposedly which should also help. Quote

Whats the point Its proper needle in the haystack No science, pure hit and hope Imo, she would be better getting the antibody test and only having the have you got it if she or one of her colleagues/patients has symptoms Quote

A quick swab and away you go. Results in a few minutes. Problem with antibody test, is that there is doubt over how long immunity lasts. OK, might not infect someone else, but may still be necessary to be retested sooner or later to check for reinfection. Quote

Casino Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Fair enough Still think antibody testing should be ramped up and stand by my suggestion that unless we are going to test her every day, we dont gain much Quote

stevieb Posted August 5, 2020 Posted August 5, 2020 Everyone thinking we can keep schools shut until there is a vaccine is a moon man. You are probably talking Q4 next year before trials are fully complete, drugs are licensed for use, manufactured and large scale vaccination programmes are rolled out. If schools aren't opening in September they sure as fuck better be delivering 8 hours of lessons by video, non of this worksheets on the Web shit. Quote
