The percentage of tests that are positive remaining roughly steady is hopefully something to hold onto. At the same time though, we're still in restricted territory so can see why there is still plenty of concern. Quote

gonzo Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 There was a family proudly not wearing masks in the co-op near me last night. It got pretty tense as everybody near them tutted and shook their heads. Quote

Any road, not a single example of non compliance I've witnessed yet up here. I spoke to a local yesterday, who was clearly naffed off with it all, but still complied. Attitudes are chalk and cheese. Some clear differences with regards to public information on the TV, but the level of respect for the rules and each other is so different. Quote

peelyfeet Posted August 4, 2020 Posted August 4, 2020 We are finding out more and more about the virus everyday. There's going to be conclusions drawn by various experts and some of them are going to be wrong, that's the nature of science. At the moment, almost unanimously, the advisors to the governments of the world do not think that this is over. There is no evidence to show that if we went back to normal life, a % of the old and vulnerable who haven't caught the disease yet, would somehow survive it, or not get seriously ill. For anyone who says we just need to protect the old and let everyone else go about their business, it's not that easy, the old live with , work with , or are cared for by other people, we can't just move them all to Anglesey for a year. What are the deaths YTD compared to the 5 year average? Let's be honest, we'll get all sorts of these stats rolled out, all depending what point people want to make. Let's be honest, no matter what metric you use, we've still had more deaths than we would have had if this virus didn't exist Quote

I guess we also don't know the long term effect it'll have on people who recover. I'm still fucked 3 months later, it's got worse the last couple of weeks for some reason, and I'm really fatigued all the time. I hope I manage to sort myself out before winter comes, as I have a feeling I might be a bit grim if I caught the flu (which by the way, I've never yet had) Quote

Once when I was early 20s, in bed for 3 days, 1 day was bad, with mild hallucinations and slept for about 20 hrs but was fine a few days after. Other time was last year, nowhere near as severe, but took me months to recover fitness, was still blowing out my arse after a bit of light exercise months after. Quote

No, I've given 6 pints so far, and they've taken me off the register for the time being, apparently to do with it being quite a large needle, and they don't want to fuck my veins up (especially as they collapsed in my last two visits) - I'm on "standby" now apparently, although I'm not entirely sure what that means Quote
