This isn't a second wave - it's a spike in the first wave. A second wave is if and when the virus mutates and returns. Probably next year.

Thank you

Some people seem determined to panic

Probably depends very much on the area diesnt it

Manufacturing clearly gets done at work

Sales puffs can wfh

I do get pissed off when comfortable wfh types keep preaching crack on

They're as selfish as folk who won't wear masks

I'm for cracking on as I've little choice

Exactly, those who can't wfh will be in the factory, shop, warehouse, etc.

There is a car park for the railway station across the road from my house, just before lockdown it was full every morning with cars double parking on the road, it was a right pain. Now, there are a handful of cars and a few of them are residents so less than 10% full. Hardly any fucker is training it into Manc any more by the looks of it.

Some interesting stats here.
We are testing more than any other country in Europe. We are way down the list of cases per 100,000. Even with the high cases in Spain and France in particular, no second lockdown yet.

Sadly, those who we voted in to run the country think very, very differently at present.

I'd guess the over 70s infection rate isn't increasing, as they're generally either still shielding or being more sensible than folk half their age. I'm all for putting anybody over 60 under house arrest until this all goes away, keep the old duffers locked up and let the rest of us crack on, obviously still being cautious, as its still not a situation to be taken lightly at all.

I am about there.

Another big lockdown isn't needed, but certain of the population should be protected.

Makes you wonder

there was a period of big gatherings up & down the country and no increases

But you can have a gathering of 10k  people Outdoors and if none of them have it Or very very few then it wouldn’t cause a spike. Conversely look at the henighans situation. One person has it and infects many others in an indoor close proximity environment.

If you’re not with someone who has it you can’t catch it.

People really need to stop comparing us with Sweden.

Sweden has 10 million people spread over 174,000 square miles

The UK has 66 million people spread over 90,000 square miles.

Also - and I cannot emphasise this enough - Too many Brits have acted like cocks about Covid. The Swedes have less people to do that and culturally are known to be better behaved.

Not even nearly the same

Do Swedes have a smaller percentage of absent fathers?

Your chances of catching outside are minimal, the atmosphere dilutes the particle concentration msssivlely

Most folk  need 10 -15 mins of breathing in viral particles via aerosol indoors ( unless some mask free bastard sneezes in your face ) to get enough to become infected.

Tracking and tracing, plus studies from around the world have all shown outdoor transmission is tiny , less than 0.1% of cases.

Of those who have caught it outside, the thinking is its folk sat next to each other in groups for ages, at bbqs  picnics, sharing food and utensils, not washing hands etc.

If I sat in your bathroom with you for 2 hrs , smoked a cigar for tbe first 10 mins how much smoke do you reckon you'd breathe in compared to standing next to me in a field for 2 hrs?

Well you’ve got me there

However, would you say that culturally is Brits will be collectively keener to follow the rules than the swedes?

Because you will never convince me otherwise. We have loads of cunts.

I cannot possibly agree more.

Pick a shop, any shop, in and around Bolton. Unless that shop has a sign saying No Mask, No Entry I absolutely guarantee that more people will go in without a mask than with one. That sums up our society in general. Selfish, arrogant, lazy cunts.

Why wouldn’t you wear a mask? I don’t understand

My mrs is reluctant to because she's got mild claustrophobia, cant even put her head under a duvet.

So she's avoided situations requiring one, but has worn them briefly when required.

Some folk can't wear them because of breathing difficulties.

Some are twats, "its against my human rights", "youre complicit with the economic downfal, plandemic, hoax, sheeple" conspiracy selfish twat ignorant lunatic brigade.

some are thick

It sums up Bolton (using your example) more than society in general
