Wimbledon’s new stadium is on the site of the former dog racing track which also held stock car racing meets. They got quite a bit of stick for it as it was the last dog racing track in London, so a lot of people saw it as quite rich given the similarities in what had happened to the original Wimbledon.

It will be a miles better away day when it’s finished. By the Horns Brewery is next door and Wimbledon brewery will also be taking space in the main stand which will be accessible from all parts of the ground including the away section.

It’s also walkable from Earlsfield, Tooting Broadway and Wimbledon, so plenty of good pubs around for before and after the match.

Who else did our 4-0 defeat at the old one in the snow in January 84?

Yep......got off at the wrong Wimbledon station & had a long & dreary walk to the ground, a bit of a fire started in the old wooden seats,  iirc George Oghani's first appearance to a less than rapturous reception, freezing cold & we got pasted. Not the best day out !!!

Politic confirmed out for the season, shame for the lad

Yes, a shame. I don't think he'd have been a first choice from the start of the season but you could see him being an Evatt type player & getting plenty chances to make his way into the team.

I suppose it's early enough to replace him in the squad......will his wages count towards our limit ?

I don't know how it will affect the embargo, but his wages will definitely count towards the salary cap.

Can't see him being on much money anyway.

Don’t think they will count as I thought they had said players under 21 don’t count towards the cap.

Scotland FA thinking about letting fans back in stadia from the 14th September, says Mary Doll.

Could be good news for the EPL, surely we would follow suit.

Hopefully

but don’t forget apart from the big two the rest are shite crowds

Not when you consider the likes of Motherwell have a population 20,000 smaller than Leigh.

Granted some ain’t very big fair enough and it must be hard for those clubs to get fans interested

dundee must have a decent population I would of thought

O well that explains it then. 5k average.  fantastic.  Standard if football cracking as well. Always give the European minnows a great game. Don't think you and Esco are convincing anyone.

Wild guess at population of Edinburgh?

dundee smaller than Bolton by about 25% and has two clubs across the road from each other.

It’s also the amount of those places that have large swathes of old firm fans. Livingston as a new town suffers from that massively as well as hearts and hibs fans. Only about 1500 home fans at livi upto maybe 2k when Celtic and Rangers are in town. It’s a wonder they survive.

but then again with a playing budget far far less than the league 2 salary cap this year it’s a wonder they can compete against the bigger clubs. Speaks volumes for the management team.

I will repeat jermaine defoe takes home more per year than the entire Livingston playing squad combined.
