So if as you say it's not working and they are allowing Russia to advance, why do Russia want to start peace talks?

They took that 20% before the backing though. Gains have been pretty much incremental subsequently. There hasn't really been a major breakthrough for some time. Apart from the Ukrainian incursion into Kursk.

From where I'm looking Russian army is on its arse, and these peace talks will mean Russia get what they want and Ukraine will stop fighting back because Trump will essentially own them and give Putin a green light to do the same elsewhere

From where you're looking the Ukraines have had loads of money but Russia just keep on advancing

Trump could just pull funding and let Putin crack on 

But there's no money in that for Trump and Putin is struggling

At no point has Trump suggested Russia are in the wrong.

At no point has he done anything other than say he will broker a deal.

The writing is on the wall, the Ukranians are going to lose 15/20% of their sovereign territory and Trump is going to claim a victory.

Putin will claim victory as well. Because basically he’s got Trump tickling his bollocks and is calling the shots.

This is now all about what Putin does next.
