Normal service has been resumed by the look of things. This hope that it's all part of some master plan I've been holding onto seems to be diminishing rapidly! I need to see more of this 'stable genius' I was promised. Quote

Part of me suspect that he looks at China and Russia as a successful model of how to run a state and is modelling his administration on pinching some of these ideas. Quote

Nothing new there and we have backed them. Once American Come up with their cunning plan I’m pretty sure we will be there with them. Quote

athywhite1958 Posted February 19, 2025 Posted February 19, 2025 Did I see that right on GMB that Trump is blaming Ukraine for starting the war? It was on this morning while I was getting ready to go to work Quote

Whilst Russia has praised Trump's comments by saying it was Ukraine seeking NATO entry that caused this war and Trump is the only leader to acknowledge this 'fact' Quote

Unfortunately it’s not looking the case. We did the exact opposite of that a few years ago when we left the EU. Had we not - I think there's a fairly decent chance it would have impacted on VPs decision to invade Ukraine at all. He no doubt saw it as another indication that the EU/West was fracturing. And he'd be right. Quote

Bertie Posted February 19, 2025 Posted February 19, 2025 You know you’re telling porkies when even Boris starts calling you out….. Responding to Mr Trump’s comments, made on Tuesday evening, Mr Johnson said: “Of course Ukraine didn’t start the war. You might as well say that America attacked Japan at Pearl Harbor. “Of course a country undergoing a violent invasion should not be staging elections. There was no general election in the UK from 1935 to 1945. “Of course Zelensky’s ratings are not 4 per cent. They are actually about the same as Trump’s.” The former PM later added: “The US believes Belgium, France and other countries are blocking. It’s absurd. We need to get serious and fast Quote

They were busy invading a sovereign nation and our lot were busy trying to stop them. NATO thought isolating Russia economically and providing a shit ton of money and weapons might have done the trick. Quote
