Fucking hell has anyone seen the video of the mass public Molotov cocktail making?

In the foot and mouth crisis, when mass culls and burials of cattle were happening, there was a call from one individual to use polystyrene dissolved in fuel to incinerate them as he said it would be more effective at ensuring no pathogens remained, because of the extreme temperature.

No wonder the authorities said get to fuck.

Highest state of readiness apparently. Makes them easier to launch.

Really does need one of his own to bump him off. Surely very few of his entourage can genuinely support him now.

Got to get anyone with open channels of communication to have a word with some of his acolytes to kill him.

Apparently talks have been agreed.

If Putin is there, someone needs to do the right thing

I've had a look at some of his previous comments and from what I can see he was being critical of the west's lack of preparation and understanding of Putin and his motives.

Now then if you're going to make political comments then where are you comments on the appeasement by the 14?

Thankfully, sir Kier has taken them to task.

So, where now:

Russia’s announcement that its nuclear deterrent has been put on "special alert" is a sign of both President Putin’s anger at the West’s anti-Russian sanctions and his enduring paranoia that his country is under threat from Nato.

His move has certainly got the West’s attention. This sort of escalation is exactly what Nato military planners feared and it’s why the alliance has repeatedly announced it will not be sending troops to help Ukraine repel its Russian invaders.

But Russia’s offensive is not going entirely to plan. On day four, not a single Ukrainian city is in Russian hands and the Russians appear to be taking heavy casualties.

This will be causing some frustration and impatience in Moscow. And it’s hard to see the proposed peace talks on the Belarus border reaching a deal that works for both Moscow and Kyiv.

Putin wants Ukraine fully back into its sphere, the Zelensky government wants it to stay independent. Short of partition, that doesn’t leave much room for compromise.

So, coupled with today’s nuclear-tipped warning to the West to back off, we are likely to see an intensification of Russia’s offensive on Ukraine in coming days, with even less regard for civilian casualties than has been shown so far.

Hard to see a way through just now. There is no doubt Putin has under-estimated Ukrainian will to resist and the world's willingness to support. His troops are not making the progress he wanted. It's such a double-edged sword. The longer his troops make slow progress the more erratic his actions are likely to become.

Diplomacy is the only answer of course as there is no way the Ukrainians will drive the Russians out of the country. But diplomacy can never mean appeasement with a character like this. I think everybody but everybody knows that. Nonetheless he will need something to save his face.

There will be increasing numbers of bereaved Russian families. Protesters are being arrested by the hundred in Russian cities. I have no knowledge of just how oppressive his system of internal repression is. I wish I did. It's clearly nothing like as complete as was the USSRs with the KGB ... not even as complete as that of his neighbour and ally in Belarus Lukashenko.

So many moving parts to this crisis now and events are on fast-forward. We're living in a very, very different world all of a sudden.

Ukraine roads company removing road signs to confuse Russians

https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/ukraine-roads-company-removing-road-signs-confuse-russians-2022-02-27/

A Ukrainian company in charge of building and maintaining roads said it was removing all road signs that could be used by invading Russian forces to find their way around the country.

"The enemy has poor communications, they cannot navigate the terrain," the company Ukravtodor said in a Facebook update late on Friday. "Let us help them get straight to hell."

It posted an edited photo of a standard road sign in which directions to nearby cities have been replaced with profanities that could be translated as "Go fuck yourself", "Go fuck yourself again" and "Go fuck yourself back in Russia".
