I’ve got a couple of contacts if anyone wants to go out there, it will probably mean you will miss the end of season run in so have a hard think about it.

Just seen an interview with a lad who has done just that. Went to Afghanistan previously too and was "got out" by British forces.

He's 22 and has a remarkable story.

@royal white might know the answer to this. But I was reading something earlier to say that our army is on its arse nowadays after 3 decades of underfunding. And apparently we're known as 'the borrowers' internationally because we're always scrounging equipment?

I know a few who are due to travel out in the coming days, a mixture of old men after that last fix and a few young uns (30s) who have recently come back from Afghan and can’t settle over here.

Fair fucks to anyone going over there.

Be good to see Western citizens showing a willingness to significantly reduce energy consumption for a bit, so we can boycott their oil and gas.

Apparently a Ukraine flag in your profile picture will do the trick.

When I was in there was always questions asked about the kit, it wasn’t until you worked alongside other nations that you realised it wasn’t all that bad (especially compared to eastern Bloc countries). It could have been better and in many cases there were short supplies. I remember going into Sierra leonne, I needed some size 8 jungle boots and was issued size 10 arctic boots 🤷🏻 (They obviously went straight on eBay). The yanks always seemed to have extra kit that we could “borrow” from them.

We always complained but that’s just the British way isn’t it?

This is Russian ‘equipment’

With old Rusty AKs and a couple of magazines. Morale for these men will be seriously low over the coming days.

Yep. There is lots of other stuff knocking about showing the state of Ruski equipment. Not the modern army that they show on May Day.
Think they may have been cardboard cutouts.

Meanwhile in America... fucking mind blowing.

Louis Theroux did a decent documentary on these guys recently. On the iPlayer now.

It's hilarious watching young blokes getting triggered by him.

This will be Farnworth if they ever decide to take us on!

I’d say it looks like good restraint.

I hope that good restraint prevails throughout his war 🙏

The idea that "not crushing Civilians with your tank" is seen as 'restraint' is a bizarre thing to hear in 21st Century Europe.

Zelensky gets a Nobel peace prize out of this I reckon.

the guy is pure steel. Just hope Putin falls on his sword and the last faces he sees are Zelensky and the Klitschkos.

I bet Bono ends up having his picture taken with him.

It’s becoming more apparent that the Russian forces are facing opposition that they were not aware of.

Boris Johnson.

Theres no way he’s a serious  act. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he turned out to be one of Keith Lemons alter egos

Probably the same. I wasn't criticising your description - just commenting on how horrific it is that we're saying these things about events in a modern European city.
