Are we going up?

The other day Rudy said we were 250-1 to win the league.

I put £10 on at 150-1.

Decent odds for a team on a roll.

  • Actually the new Bolton is go one up, miss 27 chances then defend for last 25 minutes potentially with 10 men and pretty certain with a non goal keeper in nets after Gilks injures himself knee sliding

Talk about a week being a long time in football.  With 10 minutes to go at Mansfield they were 2 pts above us with a game in hand, top of the form table and looking at play offs.  A week later we're 1

  • Still have every faith. Not even arsed we lost today. Had to lose somewhere and now is the right time to do it. I think Maddison needs a couple of starts.

Saw a meaningless stat earlier - Evatt currently has the highest win ratio for a Bolton manager since Allardyce.

All this fretting about teams having games in hand......

If we keep winning then it won't matter......

Obviously we wont' win all our remaining games, but we're definitely going in the right direction.....

The play off finals are 29 - 31 May but when is it decided who is playing on which day?

It used to be Div 2 on the Saturday, 1 on Sunday, Championship on the bank holiday Monday but this got changed a bit recently (I think).

I thought it was Saturday Sunday Monday

we'll be promoted anyways

Yep, it is SSM but which game is played on which day???

I think the order of who played on which day changed.

One poster on here stands to win 50k plus if we go up as champions.

Bloody hell - how much does he lose if we don’t? My cash outs are increasing with every win

meant to do this a couple of weeks ago, but still decent odds

Don’t know but he’s backed us from 200/1 down.

@Traf can you break this down further but in Toblerones?

Toblerones can be confusing, much easier with twix.

Yeah but do you multiply it by 2 for the fingers?

Well if it helps (it wont), I've updated yesterday's points per game analysis. Top 10 now:

FGR 84, Cheltenham 79, Cambridge 77, Tranmere 76, Carlisle 76, Exeter 76, Morecmbe 75, Newport 72, Salford 71, BW 67.5

So the projection for 3rd place has gone down from 79 to 77, and our's has improved from 65 to 67.5 - instead of needing 2.24 per game we only need 2.07 for automatic (33 more points - 11 wins from 16).

7th place projection has increased from 73 to 75 - its all closed up, the gap between 3rd and 7th is only 2 points now instead of 6.  To get 7th we needed 1.90 per game yesterday, now we need 1.95 (31 pts) as 4 teams around the play off positions won.

No charge for this service.

I should hope not !!

Presentation is terrible !!

Your counterpart over on Valleyparadeways is doing a much better job

He's looked at form over the last 6 games and he at least gets us the outcome we all crave

seems reasonable to me as it reflects post transfer window squads in the main

and then he has carefully selected points per game over the last 12 games - to ensure Bradford get promoted !

I dunno, it's a science only known by Traf

Considering we're 3rd in the first table and 9th in the second, it seems basing it on 'recent form' is a load of bollocks

I'm only interested in the next 16, not previous 6, 12 or 30

Hes not doing well really! He as missed Carlisle out!

Win the next two and it really is 'on'. With a1/3rd of the season to go teams will all be playing each other. Winning next 2 gives us a chance we then have to beat the teams above us.

Correct - basing it on any historical form , be it recent or otherwise - that's the very point I am trying to Illustrate - all that matters is how we do from here on in

Yeah just using last few games is nonsense, a week ago Mansfield were running away with that and now they're 18th!

Where do you draw the line on form, if we're winning 3-0 at half time on Saturday I'll do one based on every team's last 45 minutes and we'll probably be favourites for the champions league in 4 years based on that.

Can you ask him to do another based on Tranmere's form when playing against 11 men? 😀

Can't wait for that to even itself out over the season.

We were 20th a few weeks ago. We could be there again in another few weeks. This League is mental.

We do seem to have a very deep squad now, and as the games come thick and fast for our rivals, that should serve us well

So many different ways of trying to look at it that you can make a case for anything.

For me, we’re 8 points off top, with a game in hand and still have to play them at home - which means anything is still possible.

Beat Barrow and then reassess and then try and beat Oldham and so on.

Otherwise I just hope that the bottom teams can take a few points off the top teams and the top teams draw when they play each other to give us as much external help as possible.

Hopefully the fixtures catch up on teams. We have a solid squad and have played Saturday and midweek since Morecambe (5 games). The next 5 are also Saturday/ midweek. Wouldn't mind a bit of a break to keep the best XI out, but that's not happening.

So if we are having to fit so many in, can't imagine what Carlisle have.
