Spider Posted October 12, 2021 Author Posted October 12, 2021 It’s not much of a surprise , but the government have been told their Covid response was the work of imbeciles. Seems we should have locked down sooner rather than stand next to each other in the bogs singing happy birthday. Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted October 12, 2021 Posted October 12, 2021 No great surprise. Most thought lockdown should have happened sooner, but the care home bit will be the big one going forward. Carrying on with a current protocol when a new disease is upon us didn't work! Interesting interview with the top mon at the WHO. They don't recommend lockdowns necessarily, but suggest three main forms of attack. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem that many, if anyone, had the necessary tools initially for such an approach. Whether nations will be better prepared for any future pandemic, who knows. Quote

Spider Posted October 12, 2021 Author Posted October 12, 2021 Dan Snow So criticism before the crisis is scaremongering, during the crisis is unpatriotic and after the crisis is all-very-well-with-hindsight. Quote

How is it possible to criticise something before it's happened? Anyway, country wasn't prepared so there was bound to be much shit at the start. Quote

No cos we listened to the scientists Is it not fair enough to point out listening to the scientists was their choice Nobody forced them to Just say sorry, you twat Quote
Tonge moor green jacket Posted October 12, 2021 Posted October 12, 2021 That's utterly perverse. Why wouldn't they listen to scientists, particularly at the beginning of it all? The fundamental premise that the virus wouldn't be transmitted asymptomatically was wrong, as admitted by Whitty. That based on evidence they had from other diseases. Quickly changed for obvious reasons, but you can't always know the unknowns. Quote
JimmyRiddle Posted October 12, 2021 Posted October 12, 2021 Anyone know how you get a certificate to say you're recovered, as thats all some European countries need now. Youngest is 15, not yet jabbed but had Covid, so this seems easiest option for travel at half term. I just can't seem to figure out how you get a certificate like you do for being vaccinated or testing negative? Quote

Can't you just get him jabbed, must be entitled by now? Quote

This lasts 6 months from recovery so better than constant testing to show he negative was my logic. Edited October 12, 2021 by JimmyRiddle Quote

Be interesting to see what their daily deaths are in comparison to ours Quote

Said the other week that my gp in unhappy with them over this. Today a pcso came round to our houses following a burglary at a neighbour's. He too was unhappy with the media. Quote

Spider Posted October 12, 2021 Author Posted October 12, 2021 We need to accept it. the NHS and care homes aren’t under anything like the same pressure. I think my lad has it, just about to test him. But I won’t be shitting myself. I’m working tomorrow and will just wear a mask in meetings. No one will ask why and I’m happy that I’m doing my bit to limit spread. Common sense really does apply Now Quote
