No not really. It's having an impact of course but we're like this every year starting around this time.

That's chronic underfunding for the past decade and losing a load of Spanish nurses post Brexit for you!

👍

So time to put the Covid thing to bed, so to speak?

There you go again, unbelievable, another 140 died yesterday, nearly 40,000 new cases. In total 137,000 people in the UK have died of the virus. But according to you, it's just like flu, let's put it to bed.

"In June 2016 there were 58,698 staff with recorded EU nationality, and in January there were over 70,660. But to present this as the full story would be misleading, because we know that there are almost 50,000 more staff for whom nationality is known now than in 2016.

It is very likely that there has been an overall increase in the number of NHS staff with EU nationality since 2016, but we can’t be sure about the scale of the change, and it would be misleading to calculate an increase just based on the two numbers above"

Data recording had changed and it advises not to take comparisons too readily.

Quite interesting.

That's bollocks.

We're retaining all the 'useful to society' EU folk.

Statistics don't lie.

It's all the crack-dealing, worked scrapping metal for three days to get a N.I. number then gone on the dole, shoplifting, baclstreet fly tippun', pimpin', human-trafficking, gaudy sportswear wearing, gym hogging scumfucks who've gone home or been deported.

The hordes still at large in insalubrious environs such as Burnden/scuzzy G/L, Deane, Derby, Halliwell etc. are mirages, optical illusions, figments of fevered imaginations...

All the trash has been swept back over La Manche.

All the goodie EU workers are still, um beh beh beh um, still erm here, and more!

Brexit forever, you 'woke' democracy-denying screeching snowflake.

I caught some of Defeffal's landmark oration on the news yesterday...

He genuinely did go "...um beh beh beh um" between words.

Sounded like fucking 'Arkwright goes Oxbridge'...

European Superleague lads were running scared from him. So be careful.

I'm 50/50 on whether he is an absolute blundering thundercunt or if he's just playing at it while being egged on by his peers and they're all just having a good laugh at our expense in a jolly old public school jape.

Big change on the red list:

The only seven countries that now remain on the red list are Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Panama, the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Venezuela.

Good news for Traf, providing there are reciprocal agreements in place.

Good news for me personally too, looks like I'll be able to go to Costa Rica - already had to cancel it 3 times

There's been a drop of about 90% in nursing applicants from the EU joining the NMC register since 2016 - so I'm not sure how they've worked that out?

They also left in droves after Brexit. Especially the Spanish nurses which was hard for Bolton as we'd recruited loads from there.

We might well have more nurses from oversees - but I imagine they'll be from places like Africa and the Phillipines?

Anyone had a PCR recently at merehall?

Lad had one at 6pm and he's angling for a day of school despite him being 2x negative on lateral flows!

Crafty fucker.

Am I getting the result before 9am tomorrow?

I've not got results back yet so sent him in. As did the other mum we saw at the test centre.

Waffer cup is probably exploding with rage as he reads this.

Why has he had to have a test?

Because about 10 kids in his class have tested positive. He's been negative on lateral flows and no symptoms.

The lads who are off are just playing fortnite all day! 🤣

Fair enough. Quite surprised the school haven't sent his class home for a week with so many getting it. That was the norm not long ago.

Do you know, tarty look aside that's not a million miles from the reality (i.e her hair would be 'above collar', that's not a euphemism btw)...

Never mind.

I'm sure they'll be replaced by paying an agency 3x or 4x the rate (note the agency, not the agency staff) for some world-weary near retirement agency nurse who'll phone it in...

Anyone would think they (Defeffal and chums) have a long-standing commitment of malign neglect.

To 'turn' public opinion, to change viewpoints from seeing our NHS as a 'jewel' to 'it's crap, get the private sector involved they can't do any worse...'

They wash their hands of a dreary drain, enable their red-braced chums make a packet - with backhanders and butties, sorry, sarndwitches for all, pip pip hurrah, what, what! And finally a big pesky Commie responsibility is unhooked from the engine of government in accordance with 'writing in Blackpool Rock' Conservative 'small governance' dogma - freeing up lots of time, cash and resources to do what they do best; back slapping, choo-choo backrapping, corporate reacharounds all-round, crony capitalism, lemon socialism and jostling their respective ways to the trough.

All the while looking for the next opportunity - who needs a Police force or judiciary? Get G4S, Sodexo Justice Services or Omnicorps on the case instead. What could possibly go wrong..?

Nah but I’d like to do some research to find out how’s she’s getting on
