Moderators Carlos Posted July 13, 2021 Moderators Share Posted July 13, 2021 The Manchester League is below the North West Counties and they are in Div 2 with Daisy Hill Reserves. They could probably still play at this level themselves.

ErnestTurnip
What with Holdsworth's honorary degree and now this it makes you wonder if someone at Bolton Uni has hit the crack pipe hard.
Leyther_Matt
Worth noting the link with the Community Trust (and their home venue) so it has clearly been done with the blessing of the club. Reading between the lines, I expect it is being done so that the Trust can expand their mental health support programme, in this case targeting kids released by academies, potentially triggering more funding in the process. In reality, any kids released by an academy who still wish to play football at a serious level will be looking a good few divisions above the new club, but if it offers a future - not necessarily within football - to some of these kids rather than the unthinkable then it certainly can’t be a bad thing. Dr. Feelgood
You have to assume that, however low the entry level, these should climb a few levels with this degree of support.
Moderators Carlos Posted July 13, 2021 Moderators Share Posted July 13, 2021 You can't go higher than the Manchester League without a ground, or permanent use of one, with floodlights and a load of other ground grading requirements. So sure, you could go up to the Manchester Prem. It's a good standard and arguable not the place for kids as you'll get smashed.
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 13, 2021 Site Supporter Share Posted July 13, 2021 Why not? Done with the blessing/backing of the club. If it helps the wellbeing of young folk, and who knows perhaps yield the odd late developer back into the game then it's all good. If it causes any issues, then fuck it off. No need for negativity. Members Rudy
An old football mate text me last year asked if I fancied coming for a session training/trialwith a club who’s got David Lees backing, I didn’t ask too many questions but thought it was going to be some sort of vets league

This is legit one level above pub leagues so I don’t think it’s realistic.
Moderators Horwich Posted July 14, 2021 Moderators Share Posted July 14, 2021 The west lancs league arent accepting any new teams. If I was BWFC, I would have come to some agreement to use arena as a base. Pitch is terrible, but could be sorted.

West lancs is a good starting point, I wasn't aware they weren't accepting new applications. Richard Norton who was BWFC groundsman a few years back rented a house off me, he said the club sent him round to the arena to access the pitch with a view to buying it, he put his fork in and told the club not to bother 🤷♂️. I think it needs a lit of money throwing at it.
