Not going this year - the tiny, cramped, crappy plastic seats did my back in last year.
Good luck to the travelling fans and give 'em hell. About time we beat this bigbillybollocks toughshit team.

Not enormously hopeful, I’m sure there will be a stat that we haven’t won at Bolton since the 80s.

February 1984 to be exact. At Burnden Park in them days of course.

Quote

Big test for the full backs today if Wednesday against Reading was anything to go by. Certainly can't afford for empty the midfield like we did for Plymouth's first on Saturday either.

Quote

Could have done with the LB in for today, especially with the pace notlob have out on the wings.

Cant see anything other than a home win unfortunately, for that to change we will have to play a hell of a lot bettter than the last hour at Sixfields.

Quote

Expecting a long diagonal day, don't think we'll have enough of the ball to mount any sustained attacks. Think the ball boy behind our goal will get more touches of the ball than James Collins.

Watched them against Reading the other night and they are very strong in midfield, not really what we wanted to hear and Erhahon played as central conducter in there and with the players we have available in our midfield it will be a very challenging day.

Could be attack versus defence from the start if we summise we will set out not to lose rather than try to get some sort of result.

Quote

Still some optimism, we have to win there eventually.

Quote

I seem to recall its a big pitch so there might be space out wide for Street and Reeco to run into. I think we will see lots of diagonals therefore, and plenty of long ball to start the game with until we settle into it.

As long as we can stay at 0-0 (and 11 men) until 30 minutes in, then we might get something.

Quote

We never win at Bolton do we? I’ll be there, hopeful we can nick a point.

Quote

Looks like an attempt to completely park the bus until 60/70 mins then nick something at a set piece.

Could be a long afternoon if they score early.

Quote

Backs to the wall, then. Ninety minutes of that will be a hard watch.

Quote

That’s a 0-0 starting 11 if ever I’ve seen one. No chance we scrape a win with that… he says on the way to Bolton 😂🙈.

1-0

Quote

Tough period. Bolton look sharp.

Quote

Should have had money on Ethan gett8ng the first booking!

Quote

Sisocko looks really dangerous

Quote

Two clear fouls there on our players in that attack...

Quote

Good first half scoreline. We'll need a second as I'm sure the second half will be tough

Quote

What are those entitled pricks booing the referee for?

Quote

Great first half. Draper took his chance and we remained utterly focused for the rest of it. Bolton have tons of quality but we’ve met that challenge. Need to be absolutely committed for the second half and take our chances that will come. May also require the coaching staff to be quite astute and tactical as well.

Quote

Loving the boos at half time. Keep the billybigbollockstoughshitters on their arses.
Come on u Imps.

Quote

Touches in the opposition box, Bolton 10, Lincoln 16.

Quote

Not a good day for EE, we love to see it.

Hopefully can complete the lot and grab the win.

Quote

Not something you ever see given anymore. Bellend, referee.

Quote

Offside? Handball? If it was the latter, book the cheat.

Quote
So we've not been told what Towler was booked for.

Literally nothing. Poor refereeing.

Quote

It’s relentless pressure from Bolton. We’re hanging on in there. Wickens and Hamer have been outstanding.

Quote

Their supporters are seriously entitled.

Quote
Their supporters are seriously entitled.

They've got to expect their Giants to beat little old Lincoln.

Quote

Referee has turned into a total bellend the last ten minutes. Another foul and then they get it for handball.

Quote

Cheating, overspending bastards. Should have been put out of business, not saved by the government.

Quote

Shouldn't have said anything

Quote

Bugger bugger bugger...

Quote

Oh well. Can't say it wasn't coming.

Quote

Play until they win now, ref. Cheat.

Quote

Gutted

Quote
Play until they win now, ref. Cheat.

That was indeed a VERY long seven minutes...

Quote

Pissed off with that. Hate the vile scum.

Quote

Disappointing end but we would have took 1-1 at the start

Quote

FT. Sick, sick, sick ☹️. We played (defended) absolutely magnificently. Bolton came at us, and came at us but somehow we managed to keep them at bay. Ironic that the winning goal came from one of the very few breaks into their half. Feel sorry for Hamer, and the team for the way they conceded. The ref gave a couple of FKs which could have gone to us. George Wickens MoM for the second game running - that was very nearly a 10 performance. Really unlucky Imps - Bolton possibly deserved a point (at least) but they couldn’t put the ball in the net - actually they didn’t - we scored both goals.

Quote
The level of entitlement...

Take out the word ‘comfortably’ and I don’t think he’s too wrong.

Bolton are targeting automatic promotion and to do that you’ve got to beat the play off chasers like us and the midtablers like Reading. Both Wrexham and Birmingham did the double on us last season.

From what I can see on their forum - they seem to be saying that we were probably the better team, and that the ref is various parts of the male anatomy.

Other than that, they had almost 20,000 there today, have spent big in the summer, and have been in the premiership this century - of course they’re going to think they’re entitled to a win. We just have to rise above that, acknowledge only the 25 people on the pitch matter for 90 mins. And today those people were equal.

Quote

One other thing - what a brilliant advert for L1 football, especially the first half 👏

Quote

That is what makes today’s result excellent playing against “giants and world famous” famous Bolton who can afford to sign our strongest player (we considered) and hardly play him and take him off at half time was a fantastic result

They really have got a chip on their shoulders about us.

It's seems a common theme among clubs in this league and the one below

Fuck 'em.

Lincoln fans still not happy about that Reading loss

It's what happens when we spend too long at this level.

Loads of our fans are online and at games saying we are going to batter this team or that team based on nothing other than the hype surrounding BWFC and huge disrespect for the opposition, so we shouldn’t be surprised that we are thought of as entitled bastards.

Our relatively expensively-assembled team was seconds away from being humiliated by a club whose record spending on a player was £350k so until sections of our fan base learn to wind their necks in and let the football do the talking we will always be disrespected by others.

You should post this on impsways for likes. They’ll love it.

What hype? Our cheerleaders in the media Marc Iles and Derek Clark?

All clubs have online dickhead fans, we've got more fans than most at this level so we've got more dickheads -just simple numbers.

I got the impression they were reacting to what was going on inside the stadium rather than on line stuff (who reads that crap for god's sake).   As in, the booing of the ref somehow made us entitled.  Its such a wierd mentality, how does booing a ref's shocking decisions or the opposition's blatant timewasting make us "entitled".  It just says more about them than us.  I don't know one Bolton fan that feels entitled to beat other L1 teams just because we are a bigger club.  Its 11 L1 players v 11 L1 players, I wonder if Lincoln felt entitled when they were in non league playing against Dover and Alfreton.  Course not, but the opposition probably accused them of it if they questioned any decisions.

Here we go again for the derby game against the knuckle draggers.

I don't think we have anything to worry about, let that lot worry about us, Lowey will have the lads up for this one explaining the bragging rights to the players and what this means to the town, fans and the club, the players that played in the last game in that scrawpy win should be be wanting to put that lot in their place after the celebrations and Lowey wrongly getting his marching orders.

Even though we'd all love a another 4-0 win lets not be greedy 3-0 for me another clean sheet and let rip with that song "Bolton get battered" Can't wait for this one!

Quote

Absolutely no reason to change anything from Saturday barring any injuries. A full week to prepare and recover any knocks I genuinely think we're a much better side than them and no reason not to pick up our first away win

Quote

We are due a defeat there but whatever the result on Saturday I am more than optimistic we can mount a serious promotion challenge this season. Don’t get me wrong, I think we’ll give them a hell of a game but anything can happen in a Derby and I get the impression these men will be well up for it after failing to turn up in the last few seasons. Hope I am wrong.

Quote

Need a fair/firm referee .. can see a Noblot ' red ' .. key will be our pace/slide rule passing ..intricate/accurate/speedy ..let's ruin their Cup Final

Quote

You do know it's NOT their derby.....or so they'd have us believe despite their cup final win celebrations they had against us last season

Quote

Our stadium and theirs are around 7 miles apart, I'd say that was a local derby no matter what the deluded empty heads come out with.

They think their Derby is Man Utd 18 miles away. 😂😂😂

Quote

Backed 4-0 @ 80/1. More than confident latics will put on a show. Like people have said, pressures on them. They're going for the title/ promotion, so they will be expected to win. After seeing us on Saturday, we have a squad that is playing without fear. 'Sin miedo' 3.5k latics fans making a racket will make it feel like a home game, so I expect we will be the 12th man and will enjoy the day from start until im falling out of Berkeley Square gone midnight!

Quote

Most in the fruitshoot corner will be too young to remember the last time they beat us at the shithole stadium lol

Quote

We’ve beat them 4-0, 4-0 and 2-0 in the last 3 away games. For me we now have a far better team than the others who raised their game for a one-off. This team look capable of winning games convincingly on a regular basis. Hopefully the run continues and we smash the fuckers again.

Quote

Two very similar size clubs , matched by similar form so far this season.
As its at their place and their fans really struggle when it's not going their way , I expect either a goal less draw or we will nick a one goal victory.

Quote

I predict a fire drill on 60 minutes ( home fans only ).

Quote

Shame on you Frank ..you have the temerity and gall to come on here crowing about the big Derby ... deary me .. upsetting those lovely people on Noblot's ' Terrace Talk ' , under your alter ego ''Frank Bullet ' .. you've achieved notoriety .. well done .. a ' Wigan gobshite ' no less ..fuck 'em .. additionally , it was on page TEN of their 'we're not bothered about '' wiggin '' ' diatribe ... thumbs up mate ..!!

Quote

Was bored so had a little snoop on one of there forums they seem pretty confident, if we play anywhere near how we played first half last week we could turn these over in style, hope kerr is fit as we are struggling for depth there

Quote

Well, Tomorrow’s the day! Bolton forum says that 25,000 tickets have been sold. Another comment mentioned that they got 26,000 for Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Cup. Just shows the sheer size and pull of Wigan Athletic and everybody wanting to come out and see them. A fantastic effort from Bolton for a non Derby fixture that nobody is bothered about. Respect.
...

So yes, Bolton are more well known and supported domestically (as they should be) but I would say Wigan Athletic are more renowned internationally and have more major honours in the last 50 years.

Yes history matters, but in the lifetime of THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE that will be attending this Match, Wigan Athletic have had a superior ride in terms of honours and the journey.

...

Just how sweet is it that at approaching 14:30 Tomorrow Afternoon, after multiple renditions of “It’s happening again” and “Bolton get battered” and with sub 10,000 of their 22,000 home fans left in the stadium - That we can turn to our friends, family or whoever is in that away end and knowing that backed by almost 50% of our home gate, little Wigan have in fact taken the piss once again.

Posted

Pretty surprised at how confident they are. I'd be very surprised to see this Bolton side capitulate like the previous sides did. Beaten on the opening day, I thought we deserved better and then unbeaten since, not looking like conceding many goals. I could be wrong but it isn't season defining either way.
