Ani Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 The corner was given at just over 96mins, their captain complained and the ref pointed at the lad who went down 'injured' after 90 minutes. The pen is blatant but so was the one 5 minutes earlier when linesman just ignored it. Lolos does not handle it either. Course they will be pissed off but all 3 calls by the ref were right IMO. Quote
Johnnyrotten Posted October 27, 2024 Posted October 27, 2024 The 'extra' injury time was fully justified. One thing I'd never complain about if we lost a game in about the 100th minute is that the ref played too long. They never, ever add on enough time to make up for all the stoppages and delays (deliberate or otherwise). Both teams are allowed to score in injury time, we managed it because we were doing all the attacking. There will be games when we are hanging on at the death and if we concede I hope we never moan about how long was played, just defend for as long as you have to. Anyway, is 99th minute our latest ever winning goal at this stadium? A nice reward for those of us that stayed to the bitter end, finally! If I'm not mistaken its 2 years to the week since our last late decisive goal here (v Burton). Can't remember the last one on a Saturday. Quote

When the 6 minutes went up Peterborough made a sub. Obviously in no rush to get off the pitch this added about 40 seconds on to the 6 extra minutes. Let's round it up to 1 minute. If they hadn't have made the sub they wouldn't have lost. Simples. Quote

V Shrewsbury, the ref did not play the minimum time despite 2 or 3 delays after 90. So IE headbutted someone. Refs know not to mess now. 😎 Quote

With six seconds of stoppage time played Welsh referee Clive Thomas whistled for full-time a moment before Brazil scored. His decision reverberated around the world and he was never to officiate at another World Cup Finals. 1978 World Cup. Admittedly a long time ago. These days I think, quite rightly, 'a phase' of play is allowed to end before blowing. Better version of it Quote
Dr. Feelgood Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Thomas was one of the worst type of referees. Those who feel they are part of the offering. He adored controversy. He was involved in another controversy refereeing the 1977 FA Cup semi-final between Everton & Liverpool. At 2–2 in the closing stages, Thomas dubiously disallowed what should have been the winning goal from Everton's Bryan Hamilton for handball. Quote

matty2094 Posted February 8 Author Posted February 8 Fair weather snooper Quote Lolos on the bench for them. Could do with him today. Quote We can definitely win this game. They are shit and we’ve done ok. Quote 3-1. Someone tell Elliot to hide in the bog and make no changes. Actually, lock him in there. Quote Only 35% possession so far but who cares about that! Quote Becoming chaotic, ref dishing cards out like confetti, GET A GRIP ELLIOT, we were 2 up and up and if we do not win this you must be sacked immediately the final whistle goes Elliot! Quote 3-3 and who helps Wanderers score Lolos GET OUTTA THIS FOOTBALL CLUB ELLIOT OUT Quote 12 minutes added. We are fooked Quote Forrester was lucky that his punch to the head of Radcliffe, when he had to get treatment, was the wrong side of the officials. Although not sure where the ref got the 12 minutes from unless he is on the payroll of Bolton. Quote As soon as Bolton got back to 2-3 I knew we'd end up losing 4-3. Exeter all over again, only worse. Quote Those Bolton fans are a friendly bunch on twitter. Would be nice to see them lose at Wembley again but doubt if they will make it with that squad. Cannot understand how Lolos does not start as they are not a great side. Quote After the substitutions , downhill from there. TWELVE fckn minutes of extra time, come on. If our defensive frailties don’t relegate us, then the officials will make sure we are anyway. Anyone who’s sat through the time wasting tactics of many teams at the Broadfield this season, can anyone remember a single game where we got ourselves 12 mins of added time to play with? Never. Having said that, we screwed up today big time and threw it away.Elliot must take a large part of the blame.. Quote After watching game on I follow we are our worst enemies. I thought Cox should have done better for their first goal. As for their second we give them a free kick in a dangerous position then fanny about whilst they take it quickly. Feely did not even wait for the referee to send him off. He started walking immediately. He appears far too slow to play at this level. We are desperately short of decent defenders. Quote Just watched our goals there. 3 cracking goals, real good finishes. Officials didn’t lose us the game this time but not sure how it’s possible to take a free kick with one of our players down injured. They scored their second from that action. That can’t happen. But it did today, because it’s Crawley FC and we’re small fry. Quote Well that sucks. Lovely stadium though. And three goals in front of the away fans Quote

Tonge moor green jacket Posted March 5 Posted March 5 In the old days, I would always walk the dog up to the shop to get a Sunday paper to read a solitary paragraph about us and our division 3/4 performance the day before. This is the modern day version: really look forward to reading it! Quote

matty2094 Posted March 5 Author Posted March 5 Right, going to have to break this up a bit whilst working. Predictions first. Posts taken from https://www.smallheathalliance.com/ Quote I’m going 0-3 Blues. We really don’t look like conceding even when the oppo apply a bit of pressure. Quote Bolton score a few but concede a lot. I'm going 1-2 for Blues Quote 5-0 Blues Quote No laird, no pace. No Alsopp, no out ball to mix it up and beat the press. Nobody will have a better chance to beat us. If we don't lose this, we go unbeaten the rest of the season. Quote Amount of times this season I’ve read the words ‘I’d take a draw now’ in prediction threads, which we have then gone on to win relatively comfortably. Quote Every time now I think the law of averages says we must come unstuck soon I'd settle for a draw and every time they outperform. We're nearly there now, and as long as we can keep the first choice team fit for Wembley I don't mind if we drop a few points along the way. I don't care about setting records - just get us out of the hellhole that's L1 and win that effing cup. Quote I just think we're likely to lose at once more in the league and this looks the most loseable. So 8-0 Blues, Klarer hat-trick Quote This feels like it has the hallmarks of a potential loss. Bolton are in decent form, I suspect they probably have a top 6 squad which wasn't being used well by Evatt. Importantly they probably know they have to start picking up unlikely wins to give them the momentum to get and stay in the play-offs. Their nearest rivals both have tricky home games as well. We have loads of injuries and some players probably running close to empty. Losing Allsop does bring BPF back in with his tendency to make the occasion rickett but even more so Laird who has been our best attacking player in recent times with Anderson. We don't score many so it could be 1-0 either way I think (or maybe 1-1) Quote 1-1. Think this game will be a bit more difficult with the new manager bounce they have and injuries are slowly building up. Quote Think this might be our Banana Skin moment,1-0.Notlob. Quote BPF in goal so its a 2-1 loss. Quote Anyway just realised I haven't given my own prediction yet 2-1 defeat with Peacock-Farrell at fault for both Quote
L/H White Posted March 5 Posted March 5 Quote Anyway just realised I haven't given my own prediction yet 2-1 defeat with Peacock-Farrell at fault for both well he defo was for the first, shouldn't be beat from there Quote
Popular Post matty2094 Posted March 5 Author Popular Post Posted March 5 Match Thread Quote Bolton missing their best centre half with injury. Their fans not happy Quote BcFc Bolton missing their best centre half with injury. Their fans not happy Tough sheet ! Quote Our press is absolutely relentless Quote Pundit on Bolton TV thinks that they've just got to go toe to toe with us to win. 'like Wrexham, they've been hyped up to something that they're not' lol. He's in for a shock. Quote Sad bitter Bolton co commentator: "Birmingham have done so well this season because teams won't stand up to them and because teams show them too much respect, they're similar to Wrexham in that they're over hyped far beyond what they are" Ok mate. 12 points clear of our next rival with a game in hand. Lost 2 all season. Unbeaten at home. In the divisional cup final. 18 unbeaten. Ok mate Quote Super Hans Good save BPF Yep. TGH going to have a tough time v that winger Quote They’ve basically had a shot on target with their first attack…. We need to shoot more Quote That’s a lovely effing goal, get in. Quote What a lovely goal. Great finish and great football. We look a massive cut above when we knock it about like that. Quote Really good finish that!! Been the better team by a mile. Quote lovely move, lovely finish the football we can play now consistently is a delight Quote newblue I was just thinking BPF had been very calm. I think it’s you not him so far This. Bloke makes a good save, done nothing wrong so far (touch wood) Quote crap 1-1 Quote Well that was out of nothing. Annoying as we were completely dominant. Quote ...that was poor 😤 Quote Clean strike but he should be saving that Quote Shite goalkeeping and shite defending in the buildup. Quote It looks worse the more you see it Quote Davies giving up and would rather throw a strop than sprint back BPF beaten at his near stick Klarer beaten Calamity all over. Quote That's poor. Been all over them as well. Can't get beaten like that on the front post. Quote Wide open defensively but you’re going to have to rely on your GK making saves at some point during football games Quote We’d be purring if we’d scored that tbf. And laughing at the defending. Quote Offside Bolton goal, McAtee looks a player Quote Frustratingly, I was about to post how shit Bolton have been before their goal. Quote Genuinely think BPF is the worst keeper I’ve seen play for blues. I’m 29 for reference Quote Need to get to half time and re-group. Quote ...snidey chunt that McAtee 😤 Quote HT was needed Got to get control back of this game and keep the ball as far away from our goal as possible, in and out of possession Quote Blues just need to reset themselves here as we were in full control our defence got well caught wish lead to the goal plus everyone needs to calm the feck down on here... Quote Blaming the keeper is a bit of a cop out, we were cut open and I expected the bloke to square it for a tap in. To be fair he hit it with some venom I’m not blaming the keeper as much as most of you the rest of the defence could have done better also. We pretty well controlled that other than for five to ten minutes after each goal. Nit much of a goal threat though. Bolton look a lot better on the ball than off it. Quote Don’t think they looked at all nervous before the mistake. Until that point they were very unthreatening. Obviously a keeper should save that. Not sure where our defence was in that attack for the goal either. Alfie May has done just about nothing up front. Quote Sat right behind the goal. Yes technically you shouldn't get beaten at the near post but there was an obvious square on for a tap in. If you need a scapegoat for the goal look towards the understanding between Cochrane and Hanson. But don't because that would make you as knob. Quote Spot on, they've hit us on the break a few times and looked dangerous, other than that we bossed it. Quote What is weird is that Dacres Cogley has the best match ratings at the moment. Who would predict that! Quote This is dreadful Quote Could see that coming a mile off Quote Christ, defence has been woeful. Quote Christ almighty. Quote We are being found out tonight. Quote Bolton look up for it, we don't at the moment. Need to ramp up the intensity Quote Let's see what we've got when chasing a game then Quote Dacres Cogley has fire in his belly. Quote Getting murdered here , really miss the pace and movement Anderson and Laird provide .Plus BPF in goal ! Quote Nothing to worry about here. No need for hysterics. Quote TGH could've/should've been sent off there. Quote Get tgh off now Quote TGH probably needs to go off before he gets himself sent off. Appreciate his desire but cooler heads needed. Quote TGH gotta be careful that was a booking, get bielek on. They deserve it been all them since equalizer. Quote That was a definite yellow. Very lucky boy. Quote Another foul needs subbing off, he'll be off next foul Quote We’ve lost complete control of the game here. Will have to take Gardner Hickman off before he gets sent off. Quote Should have been off that time tbf. Cheers ref. Quote We are very VERY lucky to not be down to 10. Thank god the refs in this league are shocking. Quote Getting bummed Quote I am going to tell you now I know this ref personally very well and he’s just done us a massive favour there ! TGH head has gone !! Quote Blues looking right now they could get a real battering Quote I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say if we don’t get control of this it could be 3 or 4-1 We are that poor at the minute and they are bullying us all over Quote If bolton started the season with Schumacher they would of been challenging automatic his a cheat code for this level. Quote Surely Bolton will tire? They can't keep this up against the best team in the world (bar Newcastle and Fulham and Shrewsbury) Quote Great defending by the ref Quote Our worst performance of the season this second half in particular. Didnt see the first half other than the goals so can't really comment on that other than BPF really should have done better with the goal. Bolton are all over us, lets just hope they tire Quote This really is their cup final isn't it? Wow. Quote This really is their cup final isn't it? Wow. Especially for macahalfabeardtee Quote Osei-Tutu and mcatee have terrorised us Quote jesus wept 3-1 Quote This commentator is so annoying. But it doesn’t help how poor we’ve been. Just can’t keep hold of the ball. Quote Osei-Tutu in particular has been excellent. Quote Can't say that it's undeserved unfortunately Quote 3-1 Conceded as many goals tonight as we have in our last 10 games. Quote Well beaten tonight lads sometimes you just gotta hold your hands up Quote Gsme over Thoroughly outplayed and outfought Quote Bielik would get murdered tonight with their pace down the flanks playing right back . Quote Think this was just one game too many with injuries and the run of games. Bolton outfought us, shit housed and deserved the win, the bastards. Quote Waggeh Must admit I thought we looked the more likley to get the next goal. What ? Which game have you been watching .We've been absolutely mullered in this 2nd half . Quote First game this season I think we really deserved to lose. Bolton have played this second half perfectly. Quote Bolton have been excellent Quote Dacres Cogley has played well Quote When we've been pressed high we've lost the ball almost every time second half. We haven't been able to play out, and we really miss Allsop's long passing which stops this sort of tactic against us Fair play to Bolton, they've been fantastic Quote Agree bever watched charlton or shrewsbury defeats, but would say easily best team we played this season. Look decent and good on the ball. Quote They’ve absolutely battered us second half Quote You just know Bolton will meekly lose their next game. Those Bolton players have probably ran twice as much as we have. If they played like this all season they'd be top Quote Schumacher is a decent manager everyone that goes stoke end up derailing there career. Quote Fair play to Bolton. Better team tonight Quote Bolton have done a number on us TBF. Their front 4 have hounded us and made us play intricate 30 yards deeper than we'd like to be. They cut off the balls through to Paik and Iwata and it meant we couldn't get turned or playing into space Quote Yes Bolton have been very impressive tonight, Osei-Tutu has torn us to shreds. Quote They've been decent to be fair. But we do look leggy. It's the second balls which bolton are just quicker to react to tonight and they've capitalised. I dont blame bpf but the 1st goal just killed us, from nothing really. A game too far but look where we are ... no shame in it. They're human. Quote Bit of handbags at the end. Most entertaining part of the second half for me. Quote Other than that drum, I do respect Bolton. Fair play, they've taken the game to us. Quote Waggeh Bit of handbags at the end. Most entertaining part of the second half for me. Think the home crowd will have enjoyed it more. Pleased we were up for handbags because we weren’t up for the opposition Quote Outclassed tonight, they had too much for us...more powerful, quicker to the 2nd ball, just better Fair play We were poor Quote The drum and Schumacher, he's a chunt Quote Second half yes. Thought we were the better side for the majority of the first. Poor goals to concede either side of half time, they were up the crowd were up and they never looked back. Quote They were excellent today as were their fans. They battered us to be honest. Move on. Quote Our squad is good but it's not good enough to beat 'teams like' Bolton while carrying two passengers . If Anderson,Laird and Allsop start we get a result tonight . Quote Congratulations to Bolton on winning the world cup. This day will forever more be a bank holiday in greater Manchester. Quote They must wonder what all the fuss is about us, we were terrible in the 2nd half especially. Quote
